Listen to the MIGHT BUDDHA!! He is correct when saying you want to go buy the trichomes and not hairs. With the trichomes you get an exact time for optimal harvest. Check out this chart for checking out trichomes. Getting at least a 30x microscope is recommended as well. Good luck!!

When using the microscope I look at the leaf that has the most visible and most (quantity wise) trichomes. If one plant is ready before the other then just harvest the other one first! I know that most people like to stop nutes 2 weeks before the harvest as you may incur foul tasting nutrients...

That sounds just about right!! Just do a test by putting your hand at the top of the plants and make sure there isn't too much heat. You should be fine putting it closer considering they are fluros. Good luck with the grow!

!UPDATE! Since putting the plants in their new grow room 2 weeks ago they have been growing incredibly!! Using all CFLs and 2 flood light bulbs, the plants are a very nice height and are bushy as all hell. I have to raise the lights almost ever day because that is how fast they are growing...
