you had 30 minutes in between ur first & last post. You really expect everyone to jump in and answer your question in 30 minutes? you want at least 2000 lumens per sq ft of space 6000 per sq ft is more optimal. but by cussing and demanding an answer is no way at all to get anything done. youre better off looking it up under lumens or something.

There should be an indicator on the packaging of the bulb. Remember watts is a unit of power while lumens is a unit of luminous flux.

You want about 2,500-3,000 lumens per square foot for vegetative growth, cfl's on average put out about 60 lumens per watt, so you're looking for some 40-50w cfl's - each one should cover about a square foot, so work out your square footage and that should be the number of cfl's you need.

Don't get double the number of 20w ones because you won't get the depth pentration - you need each cfl outputting about 2,500 lumens.

For vegging - get the 6,400k blue daylight ones.

THIS INFO IS FROM THE GROW FAQS. YOU SHOULD CHECK THEM OUT FIRST BEFORE POSTING. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR GROW!

How much light is needed?
The minimum amount of light required by marijuana plants is around 3000 lumens per square foot. However, it's not 100% accurate, since although you may have a 10,000 lumen light, the amount of light that reaches the plant varies with the distance between the light and plants, and reflectivity of the grow box. The ideal amount is somewhere around 7000-10,000 lumens/sqft, and as long as the plants do not burn, as much light can be used as you want.
(*note, the sun produces about 10,000 lumens/sqft, on a sunny summer day).

Determining lumens for your grow area:
Determine the square footage of your area (example in a 4 foot by 4 foot area, there is 16 square feet)
If you have a 1000 watt High Pressure Sodium, that produces (approx.) 107,000 lumens.
Divide this by 16 (your square footage) 107,000 / 16 = 6687 lumens per square foot.
So just divide the total amount of Lumens, by the total amount of Sq ft, and thats your lumens per square foot.

"(*note, the sun produces about 10,000 lumens/sqft, on a sunny summer day)."

this is a very very general statement as there are infinite variations to take into consideration. but id say 10000 is a good standard for flowering indoor growers.

Just go get a 4 pack of 26watt CFL's, they put out 1600 lumens each, that will make Ur number jump about 7200 lumens..

Im using 4 26Watters and a 13Watter..got about 8400+ lumens and I have the exact same square footage as U..

Holy Budsites Batman!!
