Howdy Miss sunni.....I forgets you dont eat meat.....I hear what your saying about that....I swear...I wish I could cut down on meat but its like dinner just is not complete without some type of meat. Were you raised Vegan....or did you choose to eat that way later ??
i chose to go veg after i found out how terrible our meat industry is , and how much bullshit hormones, and other gross things they inject into it, might as well just go get diabetes, heart disease and cancers injected into you, cause thats what youll get from eating cheap poor quality factor farmed meat. no thanks LOL

UGH.....Well to be honest....I dont usually buy beef from the stores....I raise my own beef on my property....its all arganic range fed Black Angus....so its about as pure as it gets but what happens to us is that my kids take the majority of it ....before i know it... I dont have any left for me.....plus....running cattle is allot of work and now that the kids are grown up I dont have the help I used to have so I have been thinking of selling the herd....My little lady tells me not to but my aching body tells me otherwise ....damned if I do and damned if I dont....Im not opposed to my veggies...I like them to...its one of those deals....old habits are hard to break.

well organic is not nice ot the animals either most organic farms dont give medication to the animals and they let them suffer, its nice to talk to someone about it though, old habits are hard to break but at the same time if we didnt break a lot of habits black people would still be slaves, gay marriage would be illegal everywhere, ect ect.

Regarding most beef.......I would say that 99% of all beef is fine....most of it is range fed, grass fed beef.....the damage is done once it leaves the ranches and farms....its at the feedlots where everything goes to hell because thats where they pump them full of SHIT to fatten them up and put the pounds on.....thats where shit goes south....by the time it hits the super market....your right....its pumped full of god knows what!!!

Well....I have been doing this a long time and from experience....if you run a good clean operation....you dont have sick animals eliminating the need to medicate....From time to time you do get an animal fall ill and depending on whats up...you might have to medicate but I dont see allot of that....I have nice healthy good looking stock. About habits.....I'm talking about eating meat.....not slavery , not gay marriage ETC......thats a complete different conversation Miss Sunny! LOl

Perhaps.......I respect your opinion and views....On a personal level...looking at it strictly from a health perspective for myself, I do feel that it would be in my best interest to cut down on meat. ....but I dont share your views on meat as a source of food, I think it's fair to say that there are many that share your views on that as there are many who do not.....but its all a matter of perspective......and respect for one another.....just because you dont see it my way does not mean that i should not value your views and perspective on the subject....and vise versa. I can tell that your passionate about the way you feel and I respect that Miss Sunni....:-)

yes of course i respect your views as well i do not mean to come off harsh but i must ask do you feel you couldnt cut out meat why? a lot of people say "oh i couldnt do it cause i wont get enough protein" or "because you need animals to live"or is it simply because you like the taste? just curious of course, :) i enjoy having this discussion because frankly no one else could have it nicely , so if we could discuss this i would much happy about it as i know you're not going to be rude about it and neither will i!

The truth be told....I have never tried to stop eating meat....the only reason that I now think about from time to time is because when I go see my Doc for my annual physical.....he always brings it up because I'm getting older and he insists that I should be considering on cutting back on RED meats.....for obvious health reasons....the association of certain illness connected to red meat. So it has been on my mind for that reason.....I suppose that I could stop if it came down to it but I really enjoy a steak....beef in general. I really have mixed feelings about pork....I do eat pork but to be honest...I have thought of stopping the pork more then I do beef.

On a lighter note....now I know exactly what you were thinking when I posted " Ribeyes are killer " Miss Sunni was thinking ya...literally killer.....LOL....:-) Muahah

well if youre doctor is telling to cut it down i would, red meat is bad for anyone, it is high in LDL cholesterol which is linked to heart disease it is also been linked to over like 25 cancers, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, ect , but this is MAINLY from factory farmed animals as with everything moderation is key, dont get me wrong bear i used to LOVE steak i ate that shit everyday , but you should consider cutting down on buying crap meat from the grocery store , or cutting down your red meat consumption if its health related, as for pork i was never a fan except bacon and let me tellyou "tempeh bacon" doesnt compare.

Yes....I agree. Actually...I dont recall what thread we were on a while back but you were talking about what you eat to you get your protein....thats when I started thinking about it....I actually like the foods you mentioned as good sources of protein...I think we were talking about Vegan Moms breast feeding....It may have been then. Yes...I do need to get serious and discipline myself....My wife gets on my case but I'm always bitching and complaining if I dont see meat on the dinner table....she on the other hand could live on cucumbers AKA salad...lol

haha the problem is people take away the meat but they dont put back what they need for proteins and things like b12 which is why you end up feeling hungry, tired and sick after a few months. so if youre gunna do it do it properly, and hey like i said just cut it back a bit no need to completely not eat meat if thats not what you want, you will never do something unless you truly wanna do it.

So for example make chili, but dont put beef in it as the beans will have enough protein you dont need beef.
