What's For Dinner Tonight?

I tried the famed biscuts and country gravy for breakfast...whatever...not that great, id rather eat a country fried steak with cream gravy than a plain old biscut. Had some pulled pork tacos for lunch and then had a real breakfast for supper, crispy potatos obrian, bacon, scrambled eggs, and fresh cut salsa in a 10 inch breakfast burrito. The salsa was heavy with the cilantro and fresh squeezed lime juice. Only thing it was missin was a red solo cup and a whiskey...and an ole dirt road :):):)

For some reason sausage gravy and biscuits always sat heavy in my stomach. I like the taste but it don't like me! I'm thinking pizza tonite. The kind that's about a inch and a half thick with enough meat, cheese and grease running out of it to make sunni gasp!

Smoked Ham Hocks simmered to tenderness via a Red Bean bath.
After I wiped the drool from my mouth I got to thinking and I believe I'll ask my "Pet" Coonass to whip up a pot of Red Beans, Sausage & Rice.
That plus some of her fabulous cornbread.
Now I'm hungry.

Looks like my meal desire was overridden by the second law of thermodynamics. I wanted chicken day before yesterday & put some in the fridge - now it's thawed (seeking thermal equilibrium).
So BBQ yard strutter on the grill it is.

Mackerel pan fried in butter with ginger, garlic, thyme and juice of a lime, with a potato salad made with chorizo, streaky Bacon, parsley, white wine vinegar, and fresh egg mayo, and a portion of peppery watercress. Non. Bloody loving unemployment. Being s chef is all fine and dandy, but being a chef at home for the parents gives you the freedom and experience that a job in a restaurant will never give you. My experience is use a restaurant job to learn your basics, use your family to really learn to cook :-)

100_0892.jpg100_0889.jpg100_0898.jpgKids choice tonight... Turkey meat balls with fresh rubbed thyme on top of Spaghetti. Sauce was found to have very fine hints of "something green"...my attempts to hide finely chopped spinach were discovered. Some noise was made but negations for chocolate milk made it more palatable. My version of dinner in the first picture the kids in the second(smothered in cheese of course)...the third showing the sad loss of one prized meatball. All in all, still a good dinner time with my lads.

Gutted today, my gf has cancelled a dinner I was doing for a couple we know. I blew £20 on 3 sirloin steaks. I dunno what she's having for dinner but I'm having steak the next 3 nights :)

Man, steak sounds good but I have a shitload of chicken breasts thawing that I have to do something with. I usually get stuck in a rut with chicken and only make it one of a couple easy ways so I'll see if I can try something different. If I thought I could wait another day, I'd have rib eye tonite!!

i'm just pissed cos i bought 4 steaks similar size last week and my gf cancelled, having done the same twice in a row she can eat whatever she can find in the house. she lost her bank card last week so has been dipping my wallet and the crop money to buy fucking make up and go out with her uni mates for meals.

I aint freezing A grade sirloin for no one.

My dealer screwed me, so my plan for making maccy cheese and having a joint with a stoner movie fell through. Grabbed some monosodium glutamate from the local Chinese takeout. Maybe tomorrow!

Ribeyes are killer.....I think that just be my favorite cut.....I like to buy the whole Ribeye roast and then cut the steaks myself...of course I only do that when we have a large group of friends or family getting together because I dont like to freeze my steaks....its also your best bang for your buck. Sams club has the best prices on large cuts of meat. I also buy the whole serloin or New Yorks ...then cut the steaks like inch and a half thick......medium rare.....I'm drooling....

keep in mind when products are cheap its because of something in the line of processing, :)

Howdy Miss sunni.....I forgets you dont eat meat.....I hear what your saying about that....I swear...I wish I could cut down on meat but its like dinner just is not complete without some type of meat. Were you raised Vegan....or did you choose to eat that way later ??
