You are right early America was full of tame individuals who settled there disputes in courts and a handshake. Between alcohol, and ones manhood being challenge, a lot disputes ended in gun deaths. Yes towns had vigilante crowds that discouraged robbery and theft. Most men settled there disputes with fists, knifes and guns and most time to the death.

Never said the wild west in that particular post, I said early america. I may have said wild west earlier, but I mean early american history. Are going to deny that many disputes were not settle by firearm? I don't believe in old west films as historical facts nor do I think gnome mobile actually exists.

Yep I totally dispute your claim that most disagreements were solved by one person killing/wounding the other with a firearm.

SOME disputes were settled by firearm, just like today.

SOME disputes are still settled that way, even in countries where all firearms are forbidden.

wheres the news about REAL shootings... they pick and choose what is "good enough to report on"

people in Syria are dying left and right, we dont hear too much about that. hostages in algeria, golden triangle associated crime. kids dying in schools in war torn areas, like mali, afghanistan, and many others. lots of murders in Jamaica, honduras, mexico, el salvador.

this world is fucked up. if it isnt "important" enough, it doesnt get reported, and we're all expected to just ignore it in the "developed" world.

look how much attention went to Japan, when Haiti had MORE deaths and destruction from its earthquake.
