My second windowsill grow. Hoping to learn from the mistakes of my first one...

I'm actually in the process of doing that.

Looking at the top closely, the trichomes are still shiny so that's a good sign it's not burnt from the lamp. Phew!

DAY 104...

How does this look to you all?...

I was initially worried that my lamp had fried the top of the bud but I'm hoping it's just a natural part of the process. Some of the trichomes are turning amber but buds lower down look more like this...

In the first pic top of bud looks suspect for bud rot....if it's soft cut it off....if it's not I would try to get those dead sugar leaves out.
As far as harvest window a pic of the whole plant helps a lot....although I see a lot of clear still.

Maybe these close-ups will help a bit more...

There is a clear boundary toward the bottom of the main cola where everything looks normal.

Right, an update...

I think it was bud rot after all. That whole area smelt damp, even though it was dry on the outside. I cut it out & the centre was very moist but I seem to have removed all the suspect spots & can no longer smell the rot. The lamp shining on that exposed centre overnight seems to have dried it out a little too.

I hope that's the last I see of it.

I'm pretty sure this is due to the rise in humidity, going into autumn. I never planned to have them growing this long & have learned that next time, if I grow on the windowsill again, I'll start at least a month earlier!

So, even though many of the trichomes are still clear, I think it might be sensible to cut & start the drying process.

What do people think?

Don't shout.

I've actually read up a lot but figured I'd post a new thread on my exploits. I have no intention of using lamps, fans & tents. Just good old-fashioned soil & sun :)

I'm not a habitual smoker any more. The last single plant I grew, as much of a disaster as it was, kept me in homegrown for over a year, at the slow & occasional rate I was smoking it. I figure 4 plants, grown the same way but with better know-how, should work out nicely.

Exactly.

Me too, I grow one plant at a time and wind up with weed for years... In fact, its been 6 months since my last grow and I still have a full mason jar stuffed with buds... I cant keep up !

With all the hard work your putting in, you should really grab an LED light. You can grow one plant instead of 4 and wind up with a lot more quality bud !

Spiderfarmer SF-1000 around 90 bucks.

Oops: I missed the pics you provided, it looks like your doing just fine. Forget what I said about lights, you seem to be doing great !
