My second windowsill grow. Hoping to learn from the mistakes of my first one...

DAY 85...

Technically, just past harvest time for the Northern Dragon Fuel and much further past for the Glueberry OG. Still, plenty of signs of growth in the buds & the trichomes are still sparkling & clear. Many of the large, upper leaves are yellowing & beginning to droop but I'm not gonna touch them.

The usual feeding regime of Bio-Bloom & molasses seems to be working fine. It just a waiting game now...

Any tips on preparation for harvest time? I've read that putting them in a dark room helps. Hmmm...

The dark room before harvest doesn't do anything but lose that time it could have been growing.....waste of time.
Breeder time estimates are always optimistic....perfect conditions and some luck and you'll get close sometimes. Yours will take longer just because of low light conditions.
Looking good! :eyesmoke:

Just Dry em low and slow and in the dark as for putting em in the dark before harvesting I don't think every strain benefits with it I only did it a few times and never bothered again now thing to think about is your climate if it's warm id take hardly anything off and hang the plant almost whole to stop it drying too fast then again inverse if it's colder I would maybe separate the plant a bit more for hanging up to dry

why are you topping? you are not under a lamp.you would get soo much more with just lst
Mainly because its something I've never tried before, and it looks easier to get an even spread with the early layout of the plants branches.
I've been reading a lot on the benefits of topping but there's very little out there on the diifferences between lamp/tent grows & windowsill grows.

I get it. Lamp grows give you a much higher return, but I'm not going down that route. Not completely anyway. I'm maybe gonna use my grow lamp for the seedling to veg stage, to give the plants a really good start in life

true you get an even plant. you grow on a window soo i dont know how long the veg is. but usually topping slows the plants growth.you can get a lot more of the plant with lst.but as you say the plant is not even and one top is the biggest.

continue on the window grow its nice to see it.we where just talking about best gains above. but a finished plant is a finished plant.

I think the plan will be to start the seedling on one side of the pot, off-centre, and train it in a circle.

I'm not sure you want to use auto for this
You think I should use a simpler method of training?

Also, for the first time I've started to see a little bit of yellow/browning on the ends of the very top leaves...

This is happening at the same time as the large leaves dying off but I'm a little concerned I'm overdoing it with the molasses AND nutrients combined.
I originally started using molasses thinking I was at the final 2 week stage but clearly I have longer than that. Should I just quit with the molasses, or is it worth going easy with both?

Oh wow that looks good. that's an auto? I was just saying don't use an auto in a window because I'm under the impression you want to give it light for up to 24 hrs a day to maximize output and figure a window is lucky to get 12 hr light. Didn't read the whole thread just responded to your original post.
Since you ask, a lot of people say molasses isn't going to accomplish anything, except in compost tea if you are using organic soil. Not sure if you already said that.

Hm. That's pretty subjective. Most people wouldn't waste the time growing with sub par lighting and environment.... So you ask a bunch of guys who grow controlled rooms filled with big buds 'is it worth it to grow on a windowsill' and 95% will say no. I wouldn't be going around calling people goofballs, especially as a new member with ~100 posts.... That guy is right in his own sense. To him, or me it's 1000% pointless to grow on a windowsill. But to someone who smokes a joint a month or something maybe it is worth it? I duno? Never did it not worth my time and effort. Everyone has their own needs and if they are being met then there is no issue.
As a member that's been on here for 6 years it's my opinion. Not everybody has the money to have the big nice setups. Sorry you don't think I've been on here long enough to post my opinion.

You called someone a "goofball" and you got some pushback. I'd let it go and in the future please don't call people names. He didn't try to stifle your opinion he just disagreed politely.

TRICHOME TUESDAY...

Plenty of crystal clear trichomes so I'm having to wait a little long, I reckon.

Another thing, at certain times of day the last one (Glueberry OG) smells a bit pissy. Is this normal or am I overdoing it with the nutes?
