I have no doubt that Biden had no idea he had those papers. It's not the papers themselves, it's the HUGE pile of ammo it gives the republicans. They never shut up when they have absolutely nothing to bitch about, now they have something to bitch about, and we'll keep hearing about it till the day the republican party dies. It also gives them more brainwashing material, to just make the rift between sides deeper, and the climb out of the rabbit hole steeper.
it does do one good thing, which is to point out that the steps taken to guarantee the return of these types of documents needs to be completely gone over, and beefed up. this should have never been able to happen, and trump should have been called out over the very first document that he didn't return...

well, except they need them at meetings, they need them at committee negotiations, they need them when and where they need them...and they aren't kept at the white house, they seem to be kept in any of a number of places...which seems like a bad idea.new rule: no documents can leave the WH…EVER!

ya maybe they do. I don’t know but this is ridiculous and we look like a bunch of blubbering idiots to the rest of the world if you ask me…which you’re not….but it’s just my rant. There has to be a way to not have sensitive material go missing or why even classify it if no one is gonna respect the classification and there is no ramifications for not returning it. maybe all the meetings, committee negotiations, etc. need to be moved to the WH? IDK man

the fact that there are secret documents is evidence that there are "secret police"...but they're called the FBI, the CIA, Military Intelligence, and they all operate with the governments full knowledge. it is NOT proof of a secret government...that is ridiculous horseshit, and you know better.
it's still exactly as free a country as it's ever been, sorry they haven't abolished all law enforcement so you can do whatever ridiculous shit you've been dreaming of doing...

There are 435 members of the house, 100 senators, and many cabinet positions that may at times have need to access classified documents...Trying to cram them into one facility is just not going to work.
There DOES need to be reform, there do need to be immediate and biting consequences for not returning these documents, they need to be checked out and checked back in, daily, and anything that doesn't get checked back in gets retrieved by the FBI the next day...Although that may be difficult in the case of a president who actively tries to steal them.

What makes them secret police is they operate secretly. Meaning their alleged "masters" (the people that are forced to pay them) are kept in the dark or told lies. Gulf of Tonkin? JFK? 9/11 ? Operation Northwoods ? Ahem.

Your statement that the FBI, CIA and military operate with governments full knowledge is vague, not really accurate and it's also a non sequitur. Basically so what if they did, but they don't anyway. So sort of a non argument point you made either way.
Not that I'm a fan of any coercion based government, but I can play "small government guy" momentarily to point out the intention was to have an open and accountable government. That's obviously not the case, not even close.
Also, miltary intelligence is an oxymoron. There isn't even supposed to be a standing army, endless undeclared wars or foreign occupation of most of the world.
