This is just getting started, the public pressure on these companies will be immense and they might want to get ahead of the wave before they are swamped. Carrying Trump's water is one thing, carrying Putin's after this shit will be real fucking hard as some in the GOP are gonna find out.

This, covid improving and the economy doing well, Trump's scandals and division inside the GOP could make a difference in November. A lot can happen between now and election day and this is an example, Ukrainians are white Christian, blond haired and blue eyed. The racists in the republican party and independents will be sympathetic to them and it will divide them as much as Trump. Biden could bring a million Ukrainian white Christian refugees in and they wouldn't say a fucking peep!
Indeed "This is just getting started."

And the Republican Party is Okay with all of this.

I bet Fooker Tarlson is making clown faces about it once again.

I was going to have coffee when I woke up this Sunday Morning but that's not what goes with this. I need a beer.
Monster Flame throwers? Burnt babies? Seriously?

Last night on the news shows I watched and I agree that Putin is having a Mental Health issue.
He is attempting to rebuild empire at great cost in this modern age.
And while conquering Ukraine he is threatening Norway and Sweden to not even think about NATO. I assume because he can't fight on three fronts at the same time politically in his political Russia. He is still slightly accountable to the Russian people as he can jail some but not all.

Is it me or is Putin just like Donald Trump?
a lot like trump, but not as cowardly, unfortunately.....

Putin is such an idiot in that his lands offers so much future potential, and after the iron curtain removed the W-E relations got better for a time, which would have offered him plenty of opportunity to further develop his country.
It would have been in our (EU) interest as well.
Maybe a future trans-atlantic free-trade zone be better, Russia is just too unstable/irrational for trade policies or investments....

Hilarious :D
They also banned Russia from Eurovision.
That's gonna help the Ukrainians!
sanctions are only peripherally about helping anyone, they're meant to make it much harder for a dictatorial fuck like putin to afford to wage war...they're also meant to make it a lot harder for the subjects of those dictatorial fucks to be distracted from what their evil piece of shit leaders are doing..

Tough call. I think a lot depends on the people. For example, harsh sanctions on Iran have actually caused people to get behind their government more than caused them to be pissed off about them.

Who knows with Russia these days. Russians have shown a tendency to get real flakey when there isn't a boot on their neck.

it's all part of an exclusionary deal...they get NOTHING that we can stop them from getting, if there was a way to sanction oxygen, they'd all be flopping on the floor like fresh caught fish right now.
everything means something...i would suppose it's a popular show in russia, and now the fans will be thinking about how putin's war shut them off from it...not a major victory by any means, but another straw on an already overloaded camel's back...

this is true, but the only way to know what will work is to try things. there's more than enough cultural differences that it must be very hard to write a definitive guide that would work for everyone

Russia is Supremely fucked.
Here comes Anonymous :)

On Saturday morning, as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine entered its third day, some of the country’s official government websites went down following a series of alleged cyberattacks. Among the sites that aren’t accessible as of the writing of this article include that of the Kremlin and the country’s Ministry of Defence. Several Twitter accounts claiming affiliation with Anonymous say the international hacking collective is behind the attacks.

“Faced with this series of attacks that Ukraine has been suffering from the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, we could not help but support the Ukrainian people,” said one account. At the start of the conflict, the group said it would launch a “cyber war against the Russian government.” However, the Kremlin has denied Anonymous is behind the attacks, according to CNN.

It’s believed Anonymous is also responsible for hacking several Russian state TV channels. People have uploaded videos showing those channels playing Ukrainian music and displaying images of the country’s flag and other nationalistic symbols.

It sucks to protest in Russia.
You get arrested by the hundreds.
Why the Republicans are titillated is a real concern.

Extremely popular indeed. Final viewers relatively on par with the super bowl. 1 out of 3 Moscoweianianers with a TV watch that shit. It’s very inclusive. No Russian or Kroatian homophobe watches it. Economic sanctions they can blame on governments and leaders in the west, but when they figure out they can’t join Eurovision song festival they’ll be confronted again with how much europe hates them right now. It’s a laughable event, especially if you think it’s about good music and singing, but it’s a nice cherry on top of other sanctions.

Yeah let’s not start that irrelevant whataboutism again. Instead, let us discuss the far more recent war crimes of Croatia, Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markač for example.
