I really do try to not get sucked into religious conversations, but I just have to say, I really think that the celebration of the shortest day of the year would have been celebrated for far longer than 2k years.
Probably but was it Christmas?

The flood motif is throughout every society and religion for example. I took a comparative religion class that was great and piqued my curiosity.

I agree. I think we’re talking Xs and Os. Are we talking about a Christian Christmas or one of the non-Christian? Same name, two different animals.

It is always interesting too to look at the stuff about Horus and Jesus too.

I really think that people needed a way to keep everyone in check (don't murder your neighbors to steal their wife kind of stuff because someone is watching you at all times) and the leaders of the time just adopted a bunch of very good ideas and wrapped them up into the religion of the time. And christianity is just a more recent version of the regions it was developed from.

But it is treading a thin line with people's beliefs.

I’m cool with everyone’s religion or lack of.
My uncle was an atheist.
