I voted the new voter drop boxes are a good way to social distance. They put them in all the local parks and closed the usual middle school voting locations

Remember that time that all those Progressive candidates got elected?

No?

Me neither.
I remember when a progressive won CA-25, she supported universal healthcare. Then Smith came along, opposed it, and competed against a Trump lackey and lost. When you view it through a corporatist lense, it's clear why Democratic leadership made Hill step down, even if it means losing the seat to a Republican.

She stepped down, you can't put that on Democratic leadership. It had to be embarrassing as hell being so in the public eye and having some asshole leak out those pictures.

I really liked her too it is a shame.

It will be interesting to see what happens in November with that seat.

Oh, so a progressive gets elected, resigns in disgrace and the seat is lost - and neo-liberalism is to blame

You should apply to Fox.

Katie Hill won by supporting medicare for all, Christy Smith lost by opposing it

A little preview to come with Biden in November, seeing as he still doesn't support universal healthcare, even during a pandemic/depression

Except you are lying, as usual. Biden does support universal healthcare, but instead of ripping down all the good of our system to extend health insurance to 100% of our population he wants to use Obamacare public option and Medicare to cover the people who do not have it.

Usually when a Congressman resigns in disgrace it tends to have an effect on the following election.

Does it suck being impotent?

He tried to work on a lot of the same issues we are facing today. And ever since him the Democrats have been getting trolled by the Right wing Republicans when the racist agenda moved over to the Republicans.

Trump and his foreign dictator friends have just dialed it up to 11 by attacking our citizens online by co-opting the racists, sexists, and evangelicals.

Maybe you're not sure how words work. 'Universal' means 100%.

Biden doesn't support universal healthcare. Neither does the Democratic party at large. They support the ACA because it benefits their corporate donors in the medical and pharmaceutical industries. The ACA doesn't cover everybody, and many that it does cover it remains too expensive for, and not affordable at all, while 45K-68K people continue to go bankrupt due to medical costs every year. As the result of this CA-25 special election has shown, most voters aren't enthusiastic about voting for someone who doesn't offer them anything. Christy Smith's positions on policy weren't all that different from Katie Hill's (and Hill endorsed her), except when it came to her position on healthcare and establishment influence.

Just because you say that really doesn't make that true.

Universal Healthcare is supported by Biden and all the Democrats that I have seen, all of them want 100% of our population with healthcare coverage and the way Obamacare is set up it is a sliding scale all the way to zero for coverage if they are in a low enough annual salary/change of economic status.

And it is realistic. But Trump sure does want people to think what you are saying is in true. But it is not.

The ACA isn't universal healthcare. Under Obama, 30 million people remained uninsured. Millions more underinsured, and still, tens of thousands left bankrupt as a result of healthcare costs. That's what Biden supports.

There are no universal healthcare bills penned or cosponsored by establishment Democrats because they don't actually support universal healthcare
