He didn't graduate top of his class. I can't find any reference to where he placed in his class other than he graduated cum laude. Cum laude is GPA between 3.4 and 3.45. Def not top honors. Cum laude is the lowest ranking in Harvard's honors system.

Yale College doesn't calculate class rank or standing, and neither does Yale Law School.

Yale Law doesn't even have grades. He only got in because he's a legacy.

yale law doesn't have a grading system they use..high pass (honors), pass, low pass and fail.

Yale Law does not have a traditional grading system, a consequence of student unrest in the late 1960s. Instead, it grades first-semester first-year students on a simple Credit/No Credit system. For their remaining two-and-a-half years, students are graded on an Honors/Pass/Low Pass/Fail system.

However they did it he graduated with the honors - cum laude. Not the top of his class as previously claimed. Maybe everybody get that unless they fuck up.
