Basement setup

Hello folks, first time poster, long time grower. I have recently relocated to the east coast, I am setting up a new room in my basement. I am going to be using a fluence spydr 2i 600w. My question is for those who have grown in basements in the south with the insane humidity that lingers for most of the year. How bad is or isn't it. Has anyone had any similar experiences? I'm from Cali and we never had basements or high humidity. Any insight is appreciated.

I have hit waves of high humidity, and the plants managed just fine. Add silica to your feed if you don’t already, and try to go with the more mold resistant variety.
As I said tho, I’ve witnessed plants do just fine with no bud rot in high humidity situations, as well as very low humidity with very high temps.
With the right genetics, and your efforts to maintain a decent environment.. I’d think you’d be ok.

Forget you're going to grow weed for a minute.

Even where I live it gets humid, I turn on my dehumidifier for the summer and autumn 24/7 it cost $ but it better than dealing with a damp basement.
My advice is to get a large capacity dehumidifier anyway, you'll literally be pulling gallons of water out of the air.

good luck

dehumidifier, mini-split AC unit, and lots of fans to keep the air moving. You can also defoliate and lollipop to help airflow as well.

And return that Fluence light if you can. They are junk. I was at the hydro shop last Friday and they had 17 Fluence lights all returning to the mfg due to failure. The shop owner says Fluence quality went to crap!
