I played hockey with quite a few Russians. I will say that they were generally really good guys. Generous, fun to hang with (despite the language barrier), but I noticed that too. Very intolerant of gay people.

No need to get into your imaginary "which is worse" game. There are loads of facts, statistics and historical data to demonstrate national shortcomings. Russia is not competitive with other developed countries along most every dimension.

Russia ranks 43 out of 138 in economic global competitiveness. Russia is a human rights shithole.

I used to say the exact same thing. You are stereotyping a whole group of people.

Turns out a childhood friend of mine is gay. He chased women up through his 20's. A number of years later he came out.

See the thing is I was saying those things because I was raised that way and that's what people around me said.

Here's the thing. That friend had seen me through many tough times. Being gay didn't change anything. I still trust him. With my life if need be.

Here's another thing. I would be willing to bet that gay guy has probably screwed more pussy, drank more beer and whiskey and shot more guns and kicked more ass than you ever thought about.

yeah they're doing that all over again and same with auto loans big time. kinda sucks for the fake economy but I can't wait to see the liquidation of the new auto inventory thats piling up.

i can't imagine ever feeling threatened about a transgender person, or wanting to stop them from doing whatever it is they wanted to do in life. if they want to serve in our armed forces, i can't see why not.

just seems mean to call them "mentally ill". not to mention the obsession some people have over what other human beings decide to do with their genitals.
