Not laughing at all but fighting as we do

over this Homophobia an 'merican Invention

Coined by George Weinberg, a psychologist, in the 1960s,

[11] the term homophobia is a blend of (1) the word homosexual, itself a mix of neo-classical morphemes, and (2) phobia from the Greek φόβος, Phóbos, meaning "fear" or "morbid fear".[12][13]

[14] Weinberg is credited as the first person to have used the term in speech.[9] The word homophobia first appeared in print in an article written for the May 23, 1969, edition of the American pornographic

magazine Screw, in which the word was used to refer to heterosexual men's fear that others might think they are gay.[9]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homophobia
Let Me post that again so the Homosexuals amongst the membership don't get their meaning wrong

Homophobia is not Gay bashing, .. but is used frequently by the same sex, sexual deviants to their own satisfaction

as an active RIU member I can say the Russian way works
.?
You're joking
1 US Dollar equals
59.52 Russian Ruble
Russia is a fucking jalopy of a country.

According to experts, the total number of individuals with HIV (including those who are undiagnosed) is estimated to be between 1.2-1.4 million.[1] 1% of the Russian population could therefore have HIV.[2] According to UNAIDS, Russia has one of the fastest growing HIV/AIDS epidemics in the world.[

Seems Vostok isn't as immune to state-programming as he postures himself to be.

I don't know what relevance the economy has on this but your points regarding HIV/AIDS is relevant and points out what happens when somebody has to hide their sexual preference. Or gender.

No sodomites = no access to HIV tests for homosexual men and women = unchecked spread of disease

OK, I'm glad you explained that you have a strange idea what the word means based upon cherry picked sources.

What I meant when I called you a homophobe is a more common and current definition:

Wikipedia:
Homophobia encompasses a range of negative attitudes and feelings toward homosexuality or people who are identified or perceived as being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT).[1][2][3] It has been defined as contempt, prejudice, aversion, hatred or antipathy, may be based on irrational fear, and is often related to religious beliefs.[4][5]

Merriam Webster:

Definition of homophobia
  1. : irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals
Just so you know, I wasn't using your definition. You can take what I meant from the sources I quoted above. I won't argue with you about what you think it means. I'm posting exactly what I mean right here.

"The Russian Way" struck me as an endorsement of the general practices of a kleptocracy. The billionaire Putin presides over an abysmal financial state of affairs. Health care, quality of life, education have been eroding without the bloated world oil market to fuel the 20thC one trick pony economy. They excel in domains like world class prostitution, internet extortion schemes and political mis-info campaigns.

Russia also has a huge problem with abuse of intravenous drugs.
Same sort of government ignorance shown regarding homosexuality can be found regarding drug abuse.

https://www.brookings.edu/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Galeotti-Russia-final.pdf
Narcotics and Nationalism: Russian Drug Policies and Future

excerpt from executive summary:

The Kremlin regards the drug challenge as a nationalist, securitized, and moral problem. Drug addiction is considered a moral deficiency rather than a medical issue, which reinforces the Russian government’s predilection for a punitive approach.

Not too different attitude as found in the US. Doesn't work here either.

Russia has it's own problems. I don't blame the people, I blame their leaders for the shit that goes down there. The US has it's own problems and I'd prefer to not play a game of "which is worse".

Most Russian/Eastern European/generally Slavic people I've met did have a sort of quiet problem with gay people.

They wouldn't come out straight and say "I hate gays" but they're really really backwards socially as a people.

They have a strange fixation with "manly" behavior.
Not sure why.
Lots of strutting with chests puffed up & arms out wide.

Very insecure.

That's what I love about this site 23 pages of senseless political bickering over nothing.

That's why I was asking about a Russian politics forum. Lol, if it's half as good it would be worth Google translate. LMAO
Wow you continue to type and prove yourself an idiot. You value riding around on a motorcycle with a bear in the sidecar over the possibility that the government may imprison or kill you for opposing the president. Keep winning and maybe take a shower today.
