So how much money and how many troops will we need this time? Any guesses? We can't have countries decide not to use our dollar for all financial transactions, no way.

This time we send the robots. They are already there in a completely hushed battle space. Think of it, Dan Rather. No press whatsoever. No official US presence at all.

So, as we heard of C4 cell phones, now think bugs carrying bombs, DNA coded. Deep block, target rich experiment.

This saddens me in a way, it was inevitable though.

I spent my first tour in Mosul in FOB Marez's combat support hospital. The grunts patrolled and did route clearance enough that some guys were six time customers to my MACE examinations.

Lots of fellas got hurt badly clearing Old Town, 3/1 Cav got it pretty bad for a while.

My old hospital is more then likely converted to a barracks for terrorists now. Before coalition forces had secured it, it was a Republican Guard post.

Futility of war. Ugh.

Didn't know him, I got that particular story second hand many times. My unit room over from his in Feb of the next year. Lots of the hospital personnel were still all sorts of fucked up about it.

I was a curious youngster. I went to the CP and asked my friend to allow me access to previous camera footage, there were a few cheapo surveillance cameras located throughout the hospital and life support area.

I watched footage that give me shivers thinking about it. The thoughts actually triggered an anxiety attack a moment ago, it was time for another bowl.

My buddy and I gasped together as we watched this man walking to his hooch. Big puff of dust appears and the man falls. You see the side door of the ER garage open and four or five service members come pouring out. They hand carry him into the ER through the side.

My buddy and I both shed a little tear and tried to hide it from one another. We had already had a rough week, it was the cherry on the top that night.

What's super fucked up is that I still seek the supreme amount of adrenaline that came with treating severely hurt trauma patients. There is so much on the line, it is exciting.

It still feels wrong knowing that I enjoy that rush so much. I miss it in some ways.

Then I am reminded with nightmares, hyper vigilance and generalized anxiety. What a bitch! :)
