Why dispensary weed SUCKS!

I would check out how Oakland Ca. uses their tax before you go throwing away solutions.
Agreed. Sad the financial backers pay none to not much. Tax them. And tell the police to stop harassing myself and friends as we gift 1/8ths legally on the sidewalk out front. It is fixed and fucked. Big money made them legal. Not the people.

Okay so I'm gonna get straight to the point. All of us know the majority of dispensary weed sucks. This is my hypothesis of why dispensary weed sucks. First of all I think they use too many clones. After you clone a plant so much it starts to lose its quality. Do you know why? Because it is a clone and not the original. People are forgetting the soul element. The original plant had the soul. The clones do not. And to make matters worse the growers seem to be growing in mass amounts at a time, giving little personal attention to the plants. When you clone plants and show them little respect and attention, that's what happens. They give you low quality bud.
You didn’t mention the main reason dispensary bud tends to suck. They harvest premature almost as a religion

Dispensary product is hit and miss. Sealed containers deny customers the chance to smell freshness and strain differences. Many top shelf strain are dried out from sitting too long due to outrageous prices. I grow and I do trade for club stash because Life is Short, experience is the best teacher,..and the pursuit of Happiness sounds like a good plan. Moderation is Key.
Peace Out.

Picked early, fondled around, not cured, over dryed, sat on the shelf too long, mids disguised as better... tons of problems with the dispo but its also because people have to judge by the looks and not by anything else cause all you can do is look now.

I agree.
And it's shameful that many / most do.
That practice is un-ethical on a number of levels - most of which are documented above - and more that will be discussed by others; such as the fact that farmers willingly degrade their "medicine" to create cheap analogs of a real product (hash, charas, moonrocks & other artisan made concentrates)

It wasn't always that way:
The legal ops that I work(ed) for don't do that - black / gray market ops I worked for NEVER did that.
Skimming the trimmings is a great way to piss off your employees and get a public reputation for shoddy product.

Ethical farmers allow their trimmers to keep their trimmings.
That used to be industry standard.
Kinda miss the black market...but not enough to ditch running 5 minutes to the store(s) for legal weed while my garden flowers longer.

Just bein honest.

Yup, I don't miss having to hang out with the dealer for an hour or two playing video games smoking just to get an oz. Yeah you can rush the process but then you get lower down the totem pole of people he takes care of. Instead I just call the delivery service in between crops if needed and they just walk right up with a brown paper bag and wham bam I am all good again.

But I do understand the frustration and grievances of the people and I agree.

In California. You can’t blame the dispensary anymore. They’re just a retail store selling commercial grows product.
And yes. The commercial grower “stretch” the product. But not by placing the extra effort to skimp. But rather use/catch what was normally wasted.
But I’d bash the grow ops. They are the ones growing, harvesting, drying, curing, packaging the product. I know 1 club atm that still bags weed on site. And they have the best weed in Cali imo. Just my opinion

I think that the demand for it it’s just so high these companies don’t have the time to properly cure their weed and just push out everything they can all the time to keep shelves from going empty a empty shelf means no influx of money and that’s all a dispensary is is a money collector it’s a business they don’t care if you enjoy shit they just care they made 7 figure profits that year or more like saying the hospital cares about your health they don’t they care about your dollar

Rushed harvest = earlier payday
Rushed harvest = earlier start to the next rushed harvest = another early payday - tough to argue those economics.
(Seriously, if you were an OG farmer that suddenly discovered the words "taxes", "regulatory bodies" and "economics" - what would you think?)
Then,
Hype the early strain with all of those clear, diamond like trichs under an LED light and the kids never wonder why Blueberry Muffin (pure Indica) is just as speedy as NYC Diesel, but only both last 30 minutes.
Try showing them some ripe weed with piss-yellow trichs and "Eeeew, what's wrong with it?"
And they'll NEVER experience a psychedelic sativa hash effect - at least I haven't experienced anything like that from a dispo. - friends & family yes, dispo - no.

IMO - that's profit - in the corporate sense.

- To be fair, upper / mid shelf is usually the strain it claims, but usually seems like only a "decent" representation of the strain / crop.
BUT, my son just picked up a perfect jar of Mimosa - nice aroma, grinds well, beautiful flavor on the exhale, and no "ceiling effect" - each rip gets you higher until you stop taking rips.
So there is some good stuff out there.

- I'll also be the first to confess that I contribute to the problem - when I'm a few weeks from harvest and a few days from re-filling the cookie jar funds, that $20 1/8th of "Gorilla Glue*" and a gram of "hash**" does the job while I watch my girls grow.

Happy Hunting! :bigjoint:

*Not GG - no chemical/fuel fume aromas (no real aroma at all actually....), no smack to the frontal lobe - but still a generic, creeper stone. It gets the job done. Probably some generic kush.
** Pressing trim sand into a crumbly cookie / ball is not hash - more to it than that - make it melt...

Some places actually grow the real clone only GG4. But I'm sure most don't have the original cut.

So when a clone dies it does it not go to heaven? Does this mean there is a shortage of weed in heaven? If a male clone fertilizes a female clone does the offspring have a soul and if so, where did it come from?

So many questions.
