Nah, @Randomblame bless his heart... Once explained earlier on in this very thread how awful ads backwards the ratios of UVA and B are in those Pure UVs.oops........ i thought it was the other way around

try thisCan one of you guys tell me which page(s) has the test results to show that UV increases potency and terpenes? There's like 50 pages.
Thank you, that was a pretty good read I must say. Has anybody here figured out how much uva/uvb is needed to supplement with leds? Or is it essentially strain specific? I don't think cmh has enough considering I've seen many ppl claim no loss going from cmh to 80+cri led.try this

You only need 1-2 watts of uvb per square foot of coverage according to my reading. I’m covering 25 square feet with 48 watts.Thank you, that was a pretty good read I must say. True enough, that sounds fairly doable for the average person. Now have you tested or seen a difference with your non uv Vs uv bud?You only need 1-2 watts of uvb per square foot of coverage according to my reading. I’m covering 25 square feet with 48 watts.
No. I’m on my first grow with UVB and I just removed the uvb lamps from the tent due to some other problems I ran into.True enough, that sounds fairly doable for the average person. Now have you tested or seen a difference with your non uv Vs uv bud?
I heard Agromax pure Uv T5 should be used 15 minutes 8 times a 12 hour cyclée to start and later time reaised further to access strain resistance. Ai'm very ignorant in eletrician know how stuff,.. so can you tell me if I order these agromax tubes from US I guess to to the ignition / transformation technology they will work on EU voltage?Yeah, the Agromax pureUV bulbs are too strong to use them at the same height as your LED's. They need at least 24" and even then 1h can already be too much for UV sensitive strains. Better 28-30" but then you have your mainlights in the way.
I recommend to either use the Agromax powerveg+ bulbs (for US peeps) or the Arcadia D3dragon with 14% UVB/30% UVA (for EU growers). They both have almost the same spectrum and UV strength and their optimal hanging height is 12-16".
285nm is not UVC, the UVC range starts at 280nm(US) or 275nm(EU) depending who you ask. The problem is a UVB diode with peak wavelength 285nm would have a lower dominant wavelength and some light is probably already UVC. Even the Agromax pureUV bulbs have some light in the UVC range and that's the main reason why they are so damaging.
The UVR8 receptor in MJ responds to wavelength from 280-300nm (which is the lowest wavelength you'll find even in 3000m above 0) and the peak response it at 285nm. Maybe with the right filter coating one could remove the wavelength below 285nm but that's unneccessary.
The Arcadia and powerveg+ spectrum ends already at around 290-295nm. It takes longer to get the same response but you can usually use them all day long as soon as the plants are used to their light. This takes usually only around a week.
I've used a 12% d3desert Arcadia bulb with 12" distance for 12h per day, no issues!
I've used a 2ft bulb in a small 3sft chamber for 8h at 8" distance, also no issues!
In both cases the UVB dose was at least 40 fu.... kJ/m² and the only thing visible was a little heatstress on the upper leaves. Ah,... and of course an impressive thichome layer.
Because I already own 6 of these Agromax pureUV bulbs I will try to use them with a dimmable T5 ballast before I sell the new ones. Maybe I can figure out a way to use them without damaging the plants. Depends on how the bulbs behave when dimmed down but I will only found out it when I try it. The parts are already here I only need to find the time to replace the current ballast. And then it needs at least one or two test runs.
So if you don't want tops looking like these I strongly recommend to stay with 12 or 14% reptile bulbs. These 75/25% UVB/A pure UV bulbs have the plant shocked so hard that the whole run has finished with ~25% less than usual.

Solacure is junk based on the previousl attached UVB meter review compated to AGROMAX .. but is latter is not for full daily cycle use. The cheapest option for a nice finish of your loved ladies is Arcadia D3 DragonGreatings from france,
i had contact with official euro distributor of solacure. They quoted for shippment for only 1 full set 4f flower power and wow 300 dollars.
I asked an other grow shop if they're shipping solacure products but there is no way since its very fragile...
If there is european people here that knows what best Uv product we can have or a safe way to reach those solacure.
Thanks to everyone.
RabdomBlame explains earlier in this thread the BEST WAY to add UV to your setup, is with AgroMax PureUV bulbs on a DIMMABLE T5 Ballast/Fixture.Hi, ok thank you.
Cause i read that arcadia is not lower than 290nm and 280-285nm have the most impact on the plants.
May i expect same improvments between arcadia and agromax/solacure.
I'm not really looking for the cheapest but for the most efficient set. 300usd is out of my budget unfortunalty.
Thanks again.
What @Randomblame (fuckin legend) was able to figure out is that the PURE UV bulbs from Agromax, we're the absolute best option. They just had to be used with a DIMMABLE ballast for t5s which was apparently pretty expensive.Ok, based on migro YouTube test, solacure T12 only output 1w of UVb at 9 inches above canopy whereas Agromax PureUV and Phillips TL were nearly 3 times as high with less input. It seems the Solacure have better UV A:B ratios, e.g. 4:1 vs closer to 1:1 for PureUV. I think that was w/ 28w input.
Anybody find a ballast to drive them at higher watts? It is disappointing that lower input gets higher UVb output from other bulb manufacturers though. Sounds like the white inner reflector could be causing some of the reduced output.
would like to say I didn't need them dimmed I used them straight off just don't run them for more than 45 mins a day. it changes as the bulb gets older and u can run it longer just pros and cons a pro of the bulb for me is that I can do 4 harvest with the bulb and still do more if I wanted but that's usually when I toss then. but the dimming is suppose to help the bulb at the same time I heard dimming damages the bulb to so pros and cons on both sides. I would like to see how those uvb chips from cutter compare to the agros or the solar. What @Randomblame (fuckin legend) was able to figure out is that the PURE UV bulbs from Agromax, we're the absolute best option. So would I man... So would I. I've asked Mark from Cutter ssssseeeeevvvveeeeerrraaallllll times, on account of their price, for any and all information that he might have on their use, implementation, effects, results and outcome of how to use them and all that but I have only been shown a few charts and such so I can't really vouch for them yet. I think he just hasn't had enough feedback or personal use to really explain what they can do.would like to say I didn't need them dimmed I used them straight off just don't run them for more than 45 mins a day. it changes as the bulb gets older and u can run it longer just pros and cons a pro of the bulb for me is that I can do 4 harvest with the bulb and still do more if I wanted but that's usually when I toss then. but the dimming is suppose to help the bulb at the same time I heard dimming damages the bulb to so pros and cons on both sides. I guess so. but until then I guess I will just keep using my 4 foot sticks lol. what was the thing he showed you tho I saw it and I was like this don't tell me anything. but shit im not really upset having to replace bulbs every 4 grows that's not bad at all. that's like 9 bucks per bulb per grow that's not bad for more potency. but god damn I would like to have a uvb led that can compare to a pureuv just nothing really does.So would I man...
