I've read somewhere before that to pass a new law like the MMMP you need a majority vote meaning 51% or better but to overturn an existing law you need at least two thirds meaning 66.6% or better, can anyone confirm if this is true or not?

Either way, this is a prime example of how crucial it is for each and every one of us to get out and vote!

just got my voter ID card last week when I got my driver license in the mail here in Mich...Who is MM friendly to vote for? I am in St Joe county.

We need a shitty politician thread to keep track of our enemies.
All of them except Ron Paul, problem is hes from Texas.

The whole pile of pukes is nothing more than a facade of smiles and gimmicks to steal our money anyway. People enjoy and take pride in their ignorance and stupidity.

seriously? Look at what the man has to say about our useless government and how he wants to change it. Bro, it shouldn't matter where he's from but that he wants to run our country based on our Constitution and not based on how much cash he can get from big pharm, big bank, big oil. The guy has been preaching constitution (aka Power to the people and less government) for over 20 years and has not moved from that, also decriminalizing all drugs as Portugal has. :joint:

He was rigged to never have a chance. The good ole boys aren't going to let him in and if he did they would take him right back out just as quick.

Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it. (Henry Ford)

So sad, yet so true

Some politicians say they want less govenment but in reality its a smoke screen over their real agenda, they know unfortunately that the majority of our citizens need help thinking.

It only takes 51% for a ballot initiative to overturn a previous ballot initiative. The 75% requirement is for votes in the legislature in Lansing only.

Easy to guess why he wants the vote to be in 2013 - who the hell turns out for an off-year election? Mostly just conservatives...

Being a voter initiative it requires a 75% super majority of each house, p.s. I did post this up a while back in the MMJ news thread. If you're unaware of Michigans immediate effect clause and how it operates, I'd suggest to check this out...

So which is it, 51%, 66.6%, or 75%? I've tried searching but can't seem to find any solid results...
