Dude, let me repeat what any reputable urologist will tell one last time and I'm done, OK?If there's nothing there where do you get the biopsy to test? Once they image a tumour then they have a target and can direct the needle to it. You're just shooting into the air hoping to hit an invisible bird otherwise.
Dude, read a book by a real specialist on the subject. I did. The Whole Life Prostate Book. Look it up and go get a library card. I've researched the hell out of for over a year now.
The majority of the prostate surgeries in the US are not needed. Profitable tho. Most prostate cancers grow so slowly it'll never kill you but the ones that do do it well.
It's your life on the line so do what you think is right as will I.
The ONLY way you can diagnose prostate cancer...
is by taking needle biopsy core samples and having an experienced pathologist study the slides.
Period. That's it. Fuck the happy talk.
And, like my urologist said, everytime I suggested something I saw on the internet:
"If you want to read things on the internet, try reading the content the John's Hopkins or Mayo Clinic has online, not just any non peer reviewed garbage."
Furthermore, if your young urologist tells you something different, it's not me who needs another urologist. If you're over 65, have a double digit PsA and an enlarged prostate, you should get a needle biopsy to find out.
And every urologist has 2 widely available drugs that will shrink the prostate, lower the PsA and lower the odds of getting prostate cancer.
I used to think Canadians had it made with that health insurance setup you have.
Suddenly, I'm glad we have premiums and a choice of 50 urologists less that an hour away.
What I'm telling you is the truth, not happy talk.
