With those open top grow bags sshz you would still have to prepare it like you do. I cant remember what you add before using..theres 1 cubic ft in those bags..that would fill 2 of your pots..

Only perlite these days, I stop adding extra lime as it wasnt necessary per you know who from the farmer.

And I’ll keep buying the 3.8 cu. ft. Bags, just cause it’s cheaper for me with so many plants.

Believe It or not, I continue to remove 1-2 handful of leaves daily……….hard to believe by looking at the above pics but I want all bud sites to have a straight unblocked line to the lights above. Still around 35-40 days to go, I can’t imagine how big they’ll be in the end.

Tomorrow I want to go in low into each plant and remove some large sun leaves blocking the lower half of each plant. I thought I’d be done with the leaf removal by now…………lol

Thanks Mo….can’t help but think I did not remove enough leaves early on, as more leaves regenerate as soon as others are removed. I think back to the Orange Gasm, where I thought I removed way too much, which actually wasn’t the case. I’ll be doing the Irie Seeds strain Afterglow up next, and my plan is to over defoliate them as another experiment to simulate the Gasm grow.

it’s important to remember how these LED’s affect leaf grow, and tailor each grow to compensate for the lush veg grow. After 8 crops with these lights, you’d think I would have learned my lesson by now.

Interesting observations mate! I've taken a 'leaf' out of your book and done the heavy defol last grow and the difference was pretty substantial. I'll be doing it again this time too. I seriously need to look into one of those Gavita's though, they look like they far outgrow any other lights!

The advantages of these are a great and even light spread, 3300+ diodes so the LED’s don’t have to be pushed hard so they last longer, 5 year warranty, free shipping, very high quality build and quality components, and lower heat generation. The only negative is the price, but i see them for sale for just over $1100 occasionally. When I decide to replace these at some point, I may very well buy these same ones again. It’s the best investment I ever made in 35+ years of growing.

5 weeks today finished in flowering, 5-6 more to go……..i already have some branches falling, more from weight than anything so tomorrow I think I’ll rip the room apart, clean up each and every plant and tie stuff up so the branches can hold the weight that’s coming shortly. Not my favorite thing to do, as it’s about 2.5-3 hours of work but I’m always happy when it’s done.

I’ll take some before and after pic’s. Is it absolutely necessary? Probably not, but it will improve the room in the long run by leaps and bounds. It will mean no more defoliation (after tomorrow), a good cleanup of each plant, a rearrangement of the room, and an opportunity to get to the back rows for additional observation and defoliation.

The plants will take a few days to recover, then it will be all systems go………..

So, Monday morning I tore the left side of the room apart,it was the better looking, more even canopy side, pictured above. Each plant pulled out of the room onto a tarp, and I slowly went thru and around the plant removing diseased, large, or blocking a bud site leaves, about half a white kitchen trash bag full. The room took it hard, mainly because the plants were very dry and not very rigid. I did what I had to do, then watered each plant. But the room looks like shit right now, as it normally does for a few days Until they recover. The room will bounce back great, it always does. But now, each plant can get some light to the lower portions.

The other half of the room I decided to leave alone. First off, it kickEd my ass today, my neck is killing me. Second, I’ve already tied up some of the plants on this side, I.e. the Ethos OKC. So fuck it, I’m done. Lol

I sent you a link before, it‘s an Irie Seeds strain once released as a reg, now out in fem form.

The breeder description-I love the flavor and aroma of the popular Clementine cut that has passed thrushes Colorado commercial cultivation scene. My goal with this cross was to keep that sweet clementine flavor and aroma and increase vigor, yield and potency. Afterglow makes slightly tall plants with a sturdy structure and a lot of branching. The plants smell like sweet clementines, champagne and peaches. The buzz from Afterglow will have you walking on sunshine and smiling at strangers. Afterglow is easy to grow, and recovers from abuse and stress very well. Moderately heavy yields, 25% thc-A. Euphoric, giggles, happiness and smiles from this sativa leaning strain.
