SOG. Pictures. Soon. I'm dying here.
KC :leaf:
hold on brother, ill try to have something up later today ;-)
(Rollitup still didn't fix my issue)

Wait...

SOG, describe to me again how you are setting up the floor...

.
i am going to place the rubber right on the plywood
then cover them with two layers of 6mil panda film
placing the tents on top of it all

One big tray for the floor...
lol, that's a very big tray
i think a fitted dog mat will do
the same kind used in the back of an SUV

You guys should look into linoleum flooring works great a,
that's sweet bro

How soft is the rubber...?

I know it's not foam... but I would be worried about puncturing the panda film at every step...

I guess if the rubber is firm enough, it shouldn't be a problem...

Sure.. I can't remember the dimensions of your space, but I was just trying to illustrate the concept... not recommend a product...

Go with what you know... I am sure you will do GREAT..

But if there is one thing I don't like about your plan is this...

Panda film is not durable, especially if you introduce abrasion...

But hey... it's your grow...

Sorry Bro.. I have been up since 4:30 in pain... don't mean to be all up in your business... just thought that the floor deserved the same attention to detail, user-friendliness and durability... as everything else...

ok i'll stfu now...
:eyesmoke:

Cheers...

i think the perc's are making you hormonal/emotional
stop apologizing like a chick before pms, and post away ;-)

the rubber is pretty stiff
its designed to protect floor from gym equipment

also check out these Containment Mats
You know.. I think you are right... you are not the first person to say that about me and the drugs...

Anyways...

I like the rubber mats you have... to protect the plywood...

but instead of panda film, I would use a containment mat like those you just posted...

I keep thinking durability.. and I just don't see it the 6mil plastic...

the panda and rubber are used as padding in the general area only
my DR tents will be placed on top of all these,

the portion that has the plywood on it,
will be isolated from the rest of the attic (the top and all around)
with two layers one will be the panda film (inside white)
the second outer will be easygrow IR blocking film
this will be referred to as the "general area"

... and then comes my floor setup
basically i'm making a white room with my tents inside
the rubber mats are simply underneath it all
for cushioning and for sound insulation
and two extra layers of panda to top it of

there will be no water spillage issues with my system,
as everything is contained inside the res
and they are inside the tents
not directly in the general area
i intend to only walk with soft slippers up there anyways

I hear ya...

I will be surprised to see the panda film still on the floor after the op is running...

#1 - plastic on plastic (2 layers you said, right?) can be slippery as hell...

and

#2 even with soft slippers, I really doubt it will last... it is just not floor material, no abrasion resistance...

But then again... I have been wrong before...

So I will chill with the floor thing and just watch... :bigjoint:

#1 you have a point there (i was going to staple them to the plywood)

#2 i haven't worked yet with the 6mil panda
i have the contractors 3mil garbage bags on hand
they are extremely durable at 3mil, the panda is twice the thickness

I have used 75% of a 1000sqft roll...

I am not impressed with the quality or the durability of the product...

I bought a factory sealed roll, and I have had to double up everything I wanted to lightproof... the film actually does a fair job at containing light.. but the thousands (yes... THOUSANDS) of pinholes (smaller than pinholes actually) allowed enough light through that I could see features in my hand at 2ft from the plastic... no good...

It tears easy... stapling will work temporarily...

You know, that is a good word for panda film...

It's GREAT when you need something temporary, but for the long run, it just isn't tough at all....

My little tent is still holding up good, but it is 36x20x54, and there is about as much duct tape as there is plastic...

Try it out, but if you are so confident there will be no spillage at all, I would just use the tiles... I do believe they make them in white, although you already have the gray...

you got me doubting now, going to look into the panda durability issue

saw the puzzle mats in white, they are a special order
and way more expensive ($18 for six pieces, click the image posted above)

You know... I understand why someone with such attention to detail would want white floors, and I can appreciate that...

But if you look at the dollar figure, I imagine your op wil have a gray floor...

Your system will be in the tents anyway, so it's not like you will be loosing light reflectivity...

And if you really really want white, you will have to ignore the dollar figure....

Panda film will work GREAT for covering windows, making a small enclosure, or as a curtain/door..

OK I got to go to Physical therapy...

Can't believe they expect me to drive like this...hihihi..!!!

icy roads and shit... here we go...:eyesmoke:...

they make paint that will adhere to any surfaces now.. why not just prime and paint the panels before installation.. 1 gallon rustoleum epoxy would work.. 35 bucks at home depot

i wish, i don't have panels to paint on!
i will create only the framing, then use the films as walls
to isolate my general area from the rest of the attic

im in the process of building frames for my 10 foot by 12 foot bedroom out of pvc pipe to support lights etc and also built 2 veg and 2 aero and in process of tweaking the stink bud system to fit 2 inside 4 foot by 4.5 foot frames with 4.75 posts and working on my triple greenhouse grow and veggie (to eat and for cover for greenhouse real grow) and have to say im starting to lose my mind......lol
but........the thought of aero systems instead of hauling dirt will make it all worth it (btw also doing co2 to boot )
