I know of tons of high paying jobs vacant as I type. Skills are the problem. It's funny how most talk about the "jobs" that left have never worked those "jobs". Armchair quarterbacks. I talked to a lady my age who works at a donut shop and McDonald's. She says she will never retire. Her fault. My fault that I made it to retirement. I feel guilty but I was studying while she was hitting the bars. She is a mad trumpster. You trumpsters keep up the good work. No clue...
i grew up not far from a GM plant in NJ. late 80s ish. met a few of the workers and most were high school wannabes that earned $60k a year putting on wiper blades or fastening a doo dad to a whatchamakallit. those jobs are long gone.

i'm not an econ major, but when labor is 1/3 of what you could spend, you go for cheap labor any day

That's fine as far as it goes; but then subsidizing corporate flight, cutting tariffs so domestic workers can't afford an education or retirement, I think these and other such policies had a lot to do with moving that 'bottom line'.

Economics is a sham science, because unless it includes a lot of political science it isn't worth a shit to help one understands how the business world works.

Yep. It is changing. Where I worked you wear many hats now. Do more with less. Funny though. They are $220 million plus behind. I don't see how they can catch up. They hired three youngsters and I asked one " do you know anything about TTL" ? He said what's TTL? I busted out laughing. My partner at work shook his head and walked away. He is the only guy in my 50 plus years in the electronics field that is great. Not many out there. He still visits for a bit. Fine man who voted for trump. But that is before he met me. Very wealthy city boy who married wealthy. His wife just released her first book. He has earned everything he has. I came from dirt poor and earned everything I have. After several years with me upon leaving he said he has learned a lot about life from me. He found a progressive friend. Time for tosh.o... Carry on. This old man will shut up.

Actually it wasn't supposed to work that way at all. The government should have been taxing those profiting from free international trade and spending that money on social wlfare and retraining for those who got hurt. But it didn't work. The Republicans weren't going to see the wealthy give their money up so black people could "jest do nuthin all day" while spending their food stamps on steak - because "they all do it".

There is something seriously wrong with a party that rewards corporate rip-offs of hundreds of billions while begrudging the poor decent food. Look at the flack the Obama phones caused. Allowing people on the street, most of whom are mentally ill, a way to be in touch with the world is such an awful thing to do. Jesus would be so pissed.

This reminds me of the Aurora theater shooting; there was an outpouring of grief and coverage on every Denver station for months, but it is also true that the victims were mostly white. The perpetrator was definitely a white right wing extremist. And a nut job.
dons tin foil hat while saying this:
look at the connection b/t aurora shooting padre and newtown shooting padre.

I'm slow,(another lo IQ voter). So I looked back and saw it.

Might you think I'm deflecting from the shooter with far right views? Cause, it's known all Trump voters are similar. Bite me.
I was parodying gun laws.

I think your deflecting from my parody. But don't give a shit.

As far as defending Trump. I voted for him to do this. He's doing what he told voters he'd do.
You voted for Trump because you are a low information voter and are incapable of looking at the bigger picture.

Your wordsmith game is piss poor. Try harder.

You're kinda manic. Mellow in some posts and hostile in others. Herman can say it for me.
