May i ask what makes you more impressed? Like do you yield more with the sf4000 per watt? Or is the quality better? Im very curious and thank you for the information i will look into meijiu 480's i have never heard of this brand
No UV this time. First go around was a combo of 315 cmh and 2 SF 1000's so yeah that one had plenty of UV. My HLG are older 3100k boards but they still did a fine job in my mind. Nuggs aren't quite as dense as when I used the cmh as well but I'm happy with the results. The stone is great, the smell is a lemonish pineapple with the same taste. Haven't finished trimming but each branch is averaging around 10 - 15 grams each and I had 33 branches or so to trim. I'll try to get a final weight once I have it all trimmed up.
You can find them on Alibaba, what country are you in? They are also available locally but for a bit more depending on your location. I run an HLG 600 Rpsec with a UV bar attachment that HLG makes for it. Don't get too caught up in all the lighting debates. HLG, Kingbrite, Meijiu, Spider Farmer, Mars, all make lights that can grow good plants. I feel Mars to be at the bottom of that list but here is the thing, you can find successful grows with each brand. All are better than the shitty blurple lights out there. Pick a light with good output, some good grow journals and get to growing.
I didn't on my first run. I did have some deep/far red I was running after week 3 of flower. This time I have added a fourth SF2000 to the tent as well as a 4ft T5 with the AgroMax UV+Veg
Brighter light and more diodes. I don’t have a straight up comparison as I run 2 480s in a 5x3 Tent at about 80% and the sf is by itself at 100% in a 3.5x3.5 space. Obviously the tent with 2 lights is pulling more but I haven't done the math for yield vs actual wattage being used. The SF also comes with diodes coated with a water proof protective coating and covers on the wires/connections, while the meijiu 480s are not coated over diodes and the wires/connections are expose. So build quality also goes to SF along with the eye test.

Like everyone says run them only 15 min each hour but I was looking up the amount of uv the son produces right? Vs the amount of uv this light produces And honestly i am going too run it for 8 hours on every day during the flowering cycle.

Hard to say, I am hoping so. They are currently vegging and are starting so smell a fair bit already and I won't use UV until they are flowering. Never grown the Maui Waui or Shiva Skunk strains so not sure what to expect or what the impact of the UV will be. All in all I am sure it will be good. I get the price being so much lower concerning you, I had the same apprehensions and ended up with HLG because of the 3 year warranty and the fact that there is an HLG Canada so I can support Canadian business. That said bk78 is also in Canada and he uses those Meijiu lights with great success at 1/3 the cost of my HLG. Take a look at his post and skim through. Also Everyone always says dont use uv or you will damage your plants and my last grow i used a 10k 400w metal halide from solistek through veg and flower these lights have uva uvb etc i only yielded like 5 ounces but this cannabis got me way more stoned and smelled better than anything i had grown before
I run the UV+Veg for the full day period. I have the Pure UV bulbs as well, but I can't hang the light high enough to use them effectively at the moment. And yea, I was going for the Emerson effect with the deep/far reds. For the first 3 weeks of flower I would run one for 10 mins at lights on, and the other for 10 mins at lights off. I am spacing right now as to which is which lol. I'll double check and repost. Once I made it through the first 3 weeks and stretch was done, I ran the reds the whole day period, one still came on 10 min before and the other shut off 10 mins after though. I heard it helps them go to sleep/wake up faster.
yeah man so i hear a lot of different things when it comes too the emerson effect and deep red + infra red some people tell me that deep rep + infra red makes the plants go too sleep faster due too there being more infrared later on in the day or some crap

Thanks. There is a fair bit to learn about uv. There is UVA, UVB and UVC. I can run UVA for full 12/12 during flower. UVB can be run sparingly as it hurts the plants more and UBC should never be used except for sterilization. The lower band UVB will hurt the plant and increase thc potency if done correctly, UBA will increase trichome production so more thc but not stronger. Everything is cheaper in China because their labor force gets paid next to nothing. Have you ever wondered why nearly every fucking item on amazon or on a walmart shelf is made in China? Because any company can rape their manufacturing labor force by paying them next to nothing to make their products, then that same company can ship those products around the world where they then charge stupid fucking consumers exponentially more. Alibaba is a direct conduit to the manufacturers. This completely cuts out the middle man (i.e. HLG) thereby allowing the consumer to pay what the product is actually worth with some hefty shipping costs. But feel free to put Stephen's kids through college by paying $1200 for a single light that can be had for $400-$500 directly from the source on Alibaba. I know I know, Stephen gets top bin diodes that prior to coming off of the Samsung assembly line pass through the virgin mary's vagina before landing in the HLG shipping container headed for Stephen's warehouses here in the states. I stand by my prior assessment. Some people just love to get fucked. I wish you would've tried the light without the UV first. Then add the bar and compare the difference. But I probably wouldn't be able to help myself to use it from the beginning since you already have it. I know the UV is gonna add some frost, I'm just wondering be how much.

The board on the left is an overpriced spider farmer 450W SF-4000 I paid $628 for on amazon. The board on the right is a 660W unit off of alibaba I paid $504 for with shipping which is now on sale for about $455 with shipping. The 660W board is 2 1/2" longer and 2 1/2" wider than the SF-4000, contains more diodes, and pushes more power to each diode. Man I sure wish I had paid Stephen $1200+ tax for one of his 600 boards. Yeah, not a fucking chance.
