I pressed all my larf, then converted all the once-pressed rosin pucks into infused coconut oil which I in turn then converted into cannabis gummy bears. Which someone may or may not have paid me for. I'm actually going to break even on costs of equipment and electric and maybe even make a little bit of money off my seedy first grow. JUST SELLING WEED GUMMY BEARS TO OLD PEOPLE CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!
I can neither confirm nor deny that I know exactly what you are talking about. Only with cannabutter & some pressed bubble hash.

I didn't pay THAT much for a quarter out here, but it was still more than I wanted to pay for bud that powders in a grinder and even the tippy-top shelf ounces have muted flavors at best.

I loosely figured the costs - electric, equipment, even expendables - and my first harvest paid for itself about 4x over with a better cure and no comparison in potency & flavor. :bigjoint:

Recently bought an eighth, just to have something different --- that's where I got the description of the Blue Dream from the dispo...
Sad to hear it's not only Canadian dispensaries that suck.

That's a success story I like to hear. My first experience with dispensaries was in Michigan. I was living in an apartment and working a lot, so I just couldn't grow. I had no choice but to patronize the dispensaries, and I felt fleeced more often than not. What I ran into most often was bud that tasted like chemicals, low quality bud that looked good in the dispensaries display jar that didn't get me very high once it made it into my bowl, and outrageously fucked up prices for anything that was actually high quality. I think I paid around $350 for a quality ounce of gg#4 from a dispensary in lansing. I started the garden again shortly after that.

I'm blown away that dispensaries don't have better quality. It doesn't make sense. In Michigan it's pay to play pretty much like it is everywhere else. The commercial growers have got to pay huge sums of money just for the licensing and background checks not to mention the costs of building or retrofitting a huge warehouse to grow massive amounts of dope. HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, lights, fans, etc. The point I'm driving at here is it takes a pretty insane amount of money for these commercial licensed operations to get up and running so they can sell their product to the licensed dispensaries, and it boggles my fucking mind how they continue to produce shitty low quality flower in such abundance. Illinois is a great example. They were so overly regulated that back when they first got their medical program up and running licensed commercial growers had to have something like a half million dollars in liquidity on top of some other insanely fucked up requirements. And every single person I've ever spoken to including my father says the quality of both their flower and edible products is low quality garbage that barely gets you high. I'll summarize my thoughts on this: What the fuck gives? How is it boneheads like us can grow better dope in an amazon grow tent than these fuckers can grow with all the endless piles of money, labor, and space they've got?

Sadly I am not surprised due to the way they legalized it. Here in Canada we had booming black market, hell hundreds of dispensaries out here and cops ignored them. Than when they legalized it they only allowed the companies that sold medical cannabis to get involved. This screwed everyone. As a holder of a prescription I found most of the legal providers ended up with nothing for medical patients while they tried to take a bite out of the legal market, so not only were those who relied on it left in the cold so were those who had been growing for decades. It was only recently that they started allowing hash and vape cartridges. It's really just greed, greed and more greed that caused this. Until craft cannabis can be sold this will likely remain the norm here. I am glad at least I am allowed to grow now. Even 4 plants grown properly a couple times a year is enough to keep me happy. I use some to make rosin and turn that rosin into Vape pens. Other than your home growers the best place to get real good weed is still the black market where some care about the product as much as the profits. Funny, they kept saying they were legalizing to get rid of the black market, than started selling pot at $12 - $15 per gram plus tax. This is the thinking I have come to expect from years of government training, if we sell a shittier product at 3 X the cost people will stop buying from the black market, what idiocy. They should have allowed all growers to legally grow and sell to retailers as long as their product made it through quality lab checks. They could have had quality and sold it for much less thus destroying the black market, hell even to sell at a loss for a couple years to gain control of the market would have made sense but hey, governments rarely make sense. The very least they could have done is told the truth, that they were legalizing to clear up the courts and gain a new revenue stream. While I never said this once growing up I can say it now, home grown all the way for me.

We've had medical since '08 (I think).
The funny part with that roll out was that the biker gangs running LA's indoor grow were the biggest initial beneficiaries. --- and actually grew some spectacular weed. I remember some seriously sparkly purples and a bubblegum that actually smelled and tasted like bubblegum.

I asked a 1%er who was working the counter what it was like to take credit cards. He laughed and said, "Friend, I just paid taxes for the first time in 30 years."

I think that full legalization was more haphazard, and the flood-tide of customer demand means a lower level product becomes acceptable.
My area I have to confess that the local taxes actually benefitted the community - $4 mil in taxes repaved main roads, replaced most of our HPS streetlights with LED and set up 2 new homeless shelters. (a sad commentary on the homeless problems here)

The black market has been coming back strong though, as actual med patients want affordable meds, and connoisseurs demand better flavors and cures than dispensaries are able to provide.

There is some chiken net inside the plant that works as SCROG and helps uphold the plant.

Has anyone ran 3 of these sf2000 in a 5x5 tent?
If so what kind of distance from the pla ys did you hang?
I just did 3 i a 5x5 at 18" and got light stressed to fuck. But I've ran 2 in there before at 14 - 15" and they where fine.
