I pity someone willing to give their life in the name of oppression and bloodshed. I feel a great sadness that people are asked to do such a thing without need...I feel like the department of Defense should either figure out where defense ends and offense starts..because right now it would be better named the Department of Offense...I think we should kill people if we are being invaded...planes make that hard I can see that, but defense would have been finding Osama and the Taliban, Not hanging out in Irag, and Pakistan, and setting up leaders and toppling dictators and looking for WMDs or whatever we were doing...the only target should have been finding the people that did the deed, but then again I can see how a thing of this nature is most usually an all encompassing web of bad guys, but I still think it was not about what it was purported to be about...
Unless of course we are the ones that blew up the buildings and he was just our patsy...

Not "moot" at all, the point was that servicemen were to be lauded because they put their lives at risk. Nothing was said about protests af funerals (by religious zealots) or the rest. Interesingly, servicement work for "big evil government" and yet you don't have a problem with their doing so.

That is actually what my husband does in a way...but it isn't quite the same as joining the military..nobody is shooting at you while you hang a drop...In the military you might be climbing something precarious while people shoot at you...so you find a linemen that cna do his job while bullets are whizzing all about and I will concede that there should be a national lineman's day.

no i did not mean mine family specifically. i meant american troops. my uncle died for what HE thought was the right thing to do. obviously it wasn't a righteous cause. he was a young man who loved his country but was betrayed. my grandfather went having a wife and 4 young children at home, believing it was the right thing to do. my nephew would like to make a difference. he believes it's the right thing to do. no reason to say they should be attacked. a person should do what they believe is the right.
i personally wouldn't fight for this country and there aren't many outside of my family that i would die for. but that doesn't make them wrong or foolish that they do and did :peace:

Their DUTY? so it was the poor's duty to go to a country that had nothing to do with our freedom in order to be killed - or kill out of duty while the rich and the priveleged performed some other "duty" right? When did a draft equal duty?

servicemen join up to do a job most people would not want to do, and have previously been forced to do under threat of prison. they join up to defend our nation, but they dont get to decide what orders they obey and which they will ignore. thats the prerogative of shitstains who decline the offer to join.

our servicemen are patriotic men who sacrifice a lot to serve. they deserve the courtesy of our respect, not the ignorant hate filled OP's bullshit ranting. dont like the war, blame the politician not the soldier. but then you would have to blame your side too, and thats just wrong in your world.

service members are overwhelmingly conservative, thats who serves, unlike liberals who wish to be served. this means the members of the armed forces are natural targets for your venom, rather than the leftist turds who give the orders. those shits are on your side, so they must be protected from criticism.

service members work for our constitution and swear an oath to uphold it. i hold our constitution sacred, and reject your lame assertion that any who serve the government deserve the OP's hate filled sniveling. your hate-filled sniveling is simply political expedience and calumny.

The US will always need an army...we've been douchebags for too long to the rest of the world...so now most of the world is just waiting I think to kick our asses. So now a huge defense line is necessary...but I say we only attack if attacked first...and not like forewarned and then attacked, but outright occupation attacked. Then you kick their asses and send them back where they came from...otherwise keep an eye on the skies and our troops at home...we won't need half as many that way...Or use all the troops to form a human chain all the way around the US...everyone can sleep in shifts, it will be very uplifting, and defensive.

i was slapped by a women in mass last year when i was working with davey tree after the tornados. we had a 12kv line sparking on the ground, turning sand to glass, and were trying to secure the area and this women was screaming in my face that she needed to get by becayse her house was trashed and she needed to get back to it. she was like "ill just drive over it let me go!" i finally got in her face and told her i was going to call the cops, she slapped me and called me an asshole. fuckin stupid bitch.
