You begin your reply to me by vehemently swearing. This is the third time you have answered me back in a disrespectful manner. Point at one post I have had with you wherein I have been disrepectful towards you. Just because I disagree with you does not give you the right to disrespectfully attack me. This will be the last post from you that I answer to the subject and ignore your disrespect. If you wish to debate with me I'm good feel free but do it politely.

As for you speaking for "We the People" who elected you? You do not speak for me. Further without a vote I don't believe you speak for the majority. Looking at our current governmental crisis I don't think Donald or Hillary speak for the vast majority.

As for LEO, I know many of them, my family was an odd mix of cops, robber and the military. So I got both sides from early years. Further I would not dream of generalizing their opinions to all of their fellow officers. Finally I ask you what direct experience you have here beyond listening to emotional arguments on the internet or what you read in the newspapers (assuming people still read newspapers). What have you studied historically that supports these conclusions etc....?

Your argument that all the good cops should quit is currently the law enforcement milieu we have. Why? Because most decent people can't enforce laws that are atrocities in and of themselves. Maybe we should start the cleaning at the top instead of people just trying to make a living and stay alive. Not that there aren't many bad apples that need to go but to throw out the baby with bathwater has never been a solution of the educated.

This is why I replied to you in German, @ttystikk. You had signaled that you were not going to have a decent, respectful debate. Now you showed the same contemptuous non-comprehension of Annie's point, which in a reductionist sense is that "the police is made of us". How do we make peace with ... us? Certainly not by deciding the police are not of us. Your wrath is correctly directed toward the framers of policy, not its expediters.

It's beginning to look like opting out of the federal government is the only way forward. My fight isn't with you anyway; it's with the oligarchs who see fascism practiced against the people as a profitable situation. They use the law and the authorities to commit violence for them.

I'm not butthurt. I simply refuse to debate a very complex and emotional subject with someone who is reduced to swear words and emotionality instead of debate. If you wish to argue at the adult table you have to adult first.

That was a hard lesson for me to learn. I was reluctant to realize that the passion of my argument often correlated negatively with the quality of my reasoning. I fight with this one daily. But ultimately I yield to the basic wisdom: the truth of a fact has nothing to do with how attractive that fact is (to me). That is adulting and I hate it.

Edit: From our past interactions that includes you hence why I am trying to handle it directly. It is not required that you agree with me. Only that you bring a good argument and do it respectfully as I've done with you. I like you and would hate to lose you as an online friend merely because we disagree about a very emotionally challenging subject.

No it has not, first you have to get rid of the bad legislation. We have not done that, until then they are stuck with what they have to enforce.
