NooB Advice

hmm..im having humidity issues. my humidy stays around 25 percent in my closet. from what i read i want it around 40 percent. So i was thinking about buying a humidifier. I also read about puttin a bucket of water in there to evaporate. my question is with your guys experience could you tell me if it would be possible to get my closet up 15% in humidity with letting water evaporate in there?..or is that too much and i would have to refill it to often?...what you think is this a diy fix or should i just buy the humidifier?

riddleme how are they doing so far? 3 weeks old. when should i start flowering?

You can try a bucket/bowl of water in front of a fan, I have had that give me 15 points of humidity before but it depends on the area and ventilation

An adjustable humidifier is best, since it gives you control

lol when you say im a indica guy you aint lieing bro !!

i just recently lost my Moroccan Kiff mother and just barely got a clone off of her before she dropped stone dead after 3 years of happy motherhood

(she was under constant veg the whole time and spazed out and died practically overnight at the ripe old age of 3 and a height of just over 7 feet tall)

so i am currently pampering the clone like it is gold it is one of the few *pure* strains still out there that is 100% indica ...

my other all time favorite tho is flowering as we speak in its second week and that is Super Skunk and omfg is those plants are a trip to grow...

super skunk has barely any smell to it when its flowering and even vegging hard...BUT... when you have to do anything with the plants or even brush against them in the room get prepared

*its never good to piss off a skunk*

those little girls will fuck up my whole house in under 13 seconds...they blow right through the filtration and one time transplanting even with all my ventilation and carbon filters you could still smell it so strong that you could smell it outside... and that was 5 plants ...

almost choked me to be in the room with them...

but the smoke is sooooooo wonderful that i just cant give them up....least till the Kiff is back up and running at least

I'm thinkin of startin a contest of sorts and I'm looking for input???

I have seen the shot glass grow off and the party cup competition

I was thinking something like a NooB 1st grow kinda thing but that would cut some folks out so I'm trying to tweak the idea

I like the noob growers contest idea, but I agree that you don't want to limit it to just first time growers. My suggestion would be limit it to small home growers who have been doing it for less then a year, and/or that have grown less then a specified number of plants total (20 sounds like a nice number to me).

I agree with ed fox.
maybe party cups only? maybe you should limit the amount of light.
by the way a little update on my little ones. i lifted the light a little. they are about 4" away from the lights now. temps are around mid 70s to mid 80s (in the heat index.) it gets to 85-86 at night when i have the closet door closed. but they seem fine with it. the presperation is normal again (thanks riddleme!) and i have not yet watered them. I will get a picture once i do.

Ever tried strawberry AK? I found a dispensary close to me that has it, and this stuff is incredible. It really does smell like strawberries, it tastes delicious, and it's got a great sativa high. They don't have clones available unfortunately (guess the grower is being tight about letting other people get ahold of clones since it's supposed to be a hard strain to come by) but whoever they are getting it from seems to keep them pretty well stocked on it. I keep hoping I'll find a seed in my bud, but no luck so far.

WOW THOSE THINGS HAVE HAD IT!!!! JK...Give em some more light!!!! Those lights need to be closer or you need to get some stronger ones( I got T5 fluorescents in a Sunleaves Ballast with 6 VitaLume 54w T5 Fluroscents and there about 2 inches above my seedlings) and give em time to really dry out the cup before watering again...It(the roots) will search for water causing the roots to grow at a rapid rate!!!

Matilda's re-veg is going strong, she is growing an inch every 24 hours

i doubt you remember me from way bak in class lol, i lost my internet service for a while. but ne ways my first plants just got done curing a few days ago =D its sum killer smoke got about 2-3 ounces off each plant. but i started flowering my super silver haze plant the day i chopped and im wondering what are the differences when flowering an indica from flowering a sativa?? its been in the flower room for about a week and no change wut so ever. she wus mature for about a month befor i started 12/12 so i figured it wouldnt take her all that long to start poppn off new pistils and begin the stretch phase. do you think i should b giving her 14 hour nights, or im jus workin with a slower strain? im mostly wonderin cuz i have 2 clones flowering in the same room and have been doing great. (in pics, plant in middle is SSH, furthest left is sativa clone tht has been flowering same amount of time) and i dont wanna deprive them of a few hours of night if tht isnt the problem. in ur opinion shud i jus do the waiting game, or let em sleep ina few hours longer for now on?

Matilda2 is on the rise...glad to see she is taking to it nicely !! she has been a good girl....are you gonna try a 3rd re-veg too ?? might make for a fun experiment if you haven't before

I remember you just fine, glad to hear you had a harvest!

I would play the waiting game and leave em at 12/12, some do take longer than others, but girls take longer than guys so that is a good sign

hey riddleme any word on the noob contest?
my little ones seem to be doing great! all the top (unburned) growth is green and healthy. I have yet to water them still since we last spoke.
the soil is almost completely dry but still moist I am not sure if i should water now or wait to see the water distress?
also I was wondering about my clone. it was givin to me while flowering and is still covered in trichomes are they supposed to go away for re-veg? also the lower leaves (while it was rooting) got bleached (almost white) but not dried out and now it seems like the next node is doing the same is this normal? would you like pictures?

thanks alot bro!! so im guessing with the coffee grounds for N i would use like 2-3 teaspoons?? maybe more?? maybe less? lol

[edit] oh yea, iv been readin around quite a bit n i jus wanna make sure, but cannabis IS an acid loving plant right? haha

Rule of thumb,,,,,,Less is always more

MJ is a "slightly" acid loving plant

pics of the clone (blue crimea) the grow space and the 4 seedlings. I burned them again right before the last pictures i posted. you can see the damage very clearly now.
