Lollipop is where you trim the bottom 1/3 of the plant completely and then only leave branching that is 1-2" long. do this at 1 wk flower and then 3 wk flower and you get just one big fat cola. This round I didnt veg them enough so they will be really small anyway. However, I did this in soil before and got almost and 1/2oz dry each on some very small plants.. I just need enough to get the cycle going and it will all be on auto pilot
koolhand, speaking of nutrients and res refilling, I'm replacing the water (~6l) in res every 1-1,5 week and putting the nutrients in a suggested (by the producer) dose. Then every 2 days, when the girls drink up I add fresh supply with water (~1 l) with just a bit more nutrients that was suggested.
It seems working perfectly. Till now I used H2O2 only once, after having the water in res for a long time and there was some sort of a slime on the air stone pipes.
Vent is blowing on the plants for 12 hours, and I let the girls relax a bit just before going to sleep and after they wake up. I try not to moist them without vent blowing on them.
It seems to be working very well I'll post some pictures later, so you can see the results

someguy do you have any experience with white strains? I read something that indicated they don't fare so well with nutes,particularly in bubbler systems. I'll probablyl have the answer to my question in the a.m cause i just reintroduced nutes after a 3 day flush in which they did exceedingly better by the day. anyway, any personal info you have is greatly appreciated.
i don't think koolhand will mind a brief highjack, he benifits from my harvest. yeayea

I do not as of yet have experience with any white strains. But I have heard the same of them as well as of blueberry strains. It is just my experience that when operating without a TDS pen it is best to just introduce nutrients in a very low-dose and in a gradual manner. It is far better IMO for the plant to tell you it needs something more than to give it too much and burn half of it away. In the past I had done soil grows with pretty much just two types of miracle grow and had good results. However, I learned my lesson about nutes as that stuff is way hot. Day 26&27:
For the third fucking time tonight hope my laptop doesn't fuck this up again grrrr. added splash of h202 because of root rot was started dueto high temps. only 24hr with temps in the hi 80's low 90's. balenced ph. Had to move lights because plants are growing crazy. Gonna add 1/2tsp to 3/4 of a gallon of water and add some water to res tomrow. Thats half the nute solution to what I last time I changed res. Getting some kick ass growth with the lights being off for 6 hrs. I think it's better than 24/7. Going to flower in a few more days. Learning so much. I caused the temps to do that I really wanted to get some answers and see for my self. to cold to hot. light no light . First experimental grow. 24 hrs of darkness soon. Anyone? Should I turn my blowing fan off when lights out? outtake fan is still on.

thanks a lot man. i checked this am and she does not like the nutes. weird, this is the third time i added them, 1/8 a teaspoon per galln, and she fails each time. i gotta get her in a separate res.

It is a fact that controlling the environment does ALOT for plant stability. I think you need a thermostat to control your exhaust fan. In My experience it is the only way. I noticed improved growth on 18/6 light cycle myself and have never gone back to 24/7... plus it saves power. Hope all is well, good luck

Try it out.. seems to be working very well for me. each plant only gets a 1/2gl of water, I add to it twice to three times and the res gets changed after that (about 7-10days).

my Exhuast fan does shit it's only 80cfm it can't keep up with the heat that cfl's toss. Ahhh I'm not worried. I understand about controlling the enviorment. Somethings are out of my hands right now. So I am doing the bestI can at this min. As much as these plants are only bag seed and it's my first real attempt at growing I think thingsr looking pretty good.

Day 27&28:
Added 3/8 tsp to 3 quarts of water and added to some to the res. Not much else to talk about. really not too worried about the burn spots. who knows I could be growing a couple males anyway. looking forward to the flowering aspect and my new seeds coming in.

Day 28&29:
Checked ph it was in the sixes plants looked a little droppy. Not too woried. Orderd 3 2 gallon buckets with lids (Black) for the next grow. Gonna use air hose on the outside to show water level. Just have to make it up when they get here.

Just my 2cents but I have gone away from putting holes in the bottom of the buckets... I did not have good luck with aquarium silicone or reg silicone for sealant. I baught some plummers goop and hopefully that will make the 3gl bins I was growing in usable for some winter veggis. I'm just sharing that Ive had trouble with leak-proof seals and plastic...LOL

well,I have decided to move to flowering stage the cold nights are no good for the girls and I can keepthe lights on at night to keep them warm. tonight at 12 am the lights gooff for 24hrs. Then back on for 12/12 at mmidnight tommrow. Changed res full flush no nutes. Tommrow when lights come back on I will add 1/2 tsp of maxi grow and 1/2 tsp of maxi bloom to 1.5 gallon of water. Hope fully this doesn't take to long hope fully it's only a month. I am also gonna increase darkness over a period of time to kick these girls in the ass. I want to be ready formy new seeds.
