:mrgreen:One of my sons told me to put one tablespoon of blackstrap molasses per gallon in my veg water...another son said to put one teaspoon per gallon of flowering water...Which method is the correct one?

I use a tablespoon of blackstrap per gallon and at times have used 2 tablespoons per gallon of water without any ill effects on the plants. Blackstrap is a simple sugar/carb that can be easily digested or broken down by your plants.

just now, during veg on some, and flowering on others, we got the info to use molasses. We are new growers (about 6 months)

We are using molasses now, midstream in our grow. One son says flowering room only. The other son says foliar spray on some special vegging plants...we have a couple of different methods being used in the same house. Then I have another son who handles his CO 2 project. It gets real interesting. Through it all, I am grateful for the help.

Ive never used molasses in a foliar spray but i cant see that being a good idea,it stands to reason that spraying the plant will leave a residue which cant be good,in my minds eye i see lots of future problems with foliar feding with molasses.

Im running side by side tests right now in soil grown using molasses in 2 different strengths on 1/3 of the grow & no molasses on the remaining 1/3 of the plants.

I do see differences in the different strengths being used against the non molasses plants but until its harvested & cured its pure speculation on my part .

Yeah i think using it in ya waterings during flowering sounds better. Supposedly some of the positive effect of mol comes from it increasing beneficial micro oragsms...oh no organisms in the soil. But putting sugar on ya leaves doesn't sound too good to me.

The main difference between b4 and after using mol that i have noticed is that the buds smell stronger/sweeter for a period after.

Tho it does have nutritional value...

I highly recommend NOT FOLIAR feeding with molassess. Even diluted in warm water, it will leave a residue on the leaves. BAD BAD BAD. Stick with root feeding with mol. Or try foliar on one, see what happens and post the results for everyone. If ya wanna risk one of your babies......

I am also using the Brer Rabbit Blackstrap molassas. It was the only kind of blackstrap that i could find around here.

Yeah heat some molasses up in the jar in hot water to thin it out and add about 3 tbs per gallon and shake it real good. My last grow i added right when it started to flower for a carb load. It worked out pretty well. Good luck man.

Ive been adding it for the past 3 weeks or so and although i have no control for the experiment they are doing so well that im sure its helping, also it seems almost impossible to over use the stuff, i keep uping the frequency and dose assuming the plants will show signs of too much and they keep looking better and better, i usually do 2 TB per gallon every watering but have used up to 4

I use 50ml to 4 litres of water during bloom. Every watering, but this is the first crop I've done this with, looks good so far.. time will tell I guess....:leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf:
