I took paper clips and manipulated them to resemble a candy cane, and pulled over some rubber coating that I cut off of a plant tie. I used paper clips because the metal is more sturdy than the plant ties to stick into the soil.
I've actually decided that I will not be keeping the 2 tops in the center for long. Just for a week to help soak up light.
They would not work since they are taller than all the other branches. I plant on having a pretty full canopy. Need all the strength in the base as I can.

The reason for me having the 2 tops still on the plant, is just be cause it will give me something else to cut again in a week or 2. Reason behind that is to keep her short, and make that trunk a little girthy like it should be. :blsmoke:
I'm actually going to be topping that same stump above the 2 nodes remaining on the plant twice. Just to keep her down, and build up a strong foundation.

Sounds awesome, Ima pull up a chair too and watch. I'd love to see that thing turn into a giant tree trunk. Happy growing (:

Day 27 from sprout. Glueberry Muffins.
Still have the 4 branches I didn't butcher tied down.
Couple of spots on the big fans.. she needed some cal mag finally. So with Fox Farm soil i was able to feed straight water for almost a month before
I had to add anything to the water. Now I'm adding 5ml of calmag per gallon of water.
I always water with the pot elevated so the water can run thru the pot, and into a tray below. I'm in a fabric pot with plenty of aeration, so I'm not
worried about over watering. I'm worried about watering without leaving dry soil anywhere in the pot.
Run off is discarded, and saucers are cleaned after every feeding. Along with the PH & PPM meters, and syringes used to get the calmag to the watering jug.
