there havent been enough journals to document grams per watt or many comparisons but i havent seen 1 bad led journal from a name brand company

In my opinion...
Blackstar, Isis, 357 Magnum, Hydroponics Hut, Stealth Grow, GrowLedHydro all have proven themselves in my eyes or at least in the journals i have seen...
Can you provide the link to a completed and independent Stealth Grow journal? I have not been able to find one. All I see is company You Tube grow shows.

The 50 watt "plasma globe" from hydroponics hut is an induction bulb...which they do not advertise the Kelvin color temperature of, so you won’t have an idea what quality of light you will get. You can get the exact same bulb for 70 bucks, just Google induction lights, and follow a few of the sponsor adds. You'll find that bulb, and many others. The hydroponics hut...just added a white plastic cover to the bulb, and charged $150.00. That reflector must be awesome! Hydroponics Hut then advertised the bulb as plasma, which it is not.

Regarding that particular bulb, they are effective, and can easily be placed anywhere in your room. They are not primary light, but they work great as a secondary source, just like T5's. The benefit to this bulb is that the built in reflector from the base, provides a level of directionality for the all-important light photons that our plants want. I can hold the bulb in my hand after it’s been running for hours, and it feels warm. I have placed the bulb within two inches of my girls, and have seen no negative heat or light stress issues. The bulb surface does "feel" cooler to the touch than two foot T5 tubes. The bulb will screw right in to any normal E27, (Edison type) light socket.

I have not used induction bulbs for anything other than side lighting yet, but I can see their potential for vegging, rooting new clones or lighting a mother.

Induction lights have their place; just don’t spend 90 bucks for a little plastic reflector to cover a bulb.

Prost!
The induction bulb fro Hydrohut is dual-spectrum, I haven't seen that in similar looking induction bulbs elsewhere. I tried one (didn't receive the cover piece), but used it in an overhead fixture without surge protection...it didn't last long. I did get my money back, and I supplemented my last grow with induction bulbs from inductionlamps.com. <really nice supplemental to my Kessil magenta in my microgrow. I was surprised at how much my plants loved the coolwhite light, EVEN in flowering. Just be sure to use surge suppressors.

I'd say hydro hut, that's who I grow with and impressed. Their small lights sell for around 240$ on their ebay store. They have the ability to select spectra which is very nice.

Blackstars seem good but I'd stock with hydro hut if it were me
The Blackstars have some Cree diodes, which the ProGrows from hydroponicshut do not (edit: Just saw that their 2011 models DO use Cree). I'd like to see them in a grow-off. The selective swich is a nice feature, for a number of reasons.

Procyon has a nice new mini=light kit out. 50w, and you can daisy chain them. Have to assemble, and solder the power line. (not included but offered dc>ac power source.

Why don't they just put the damn things together, I wonder? Cool light, anyway.

Hey budlover, which company is that? Hydroponicshut? They are good about honoring their guarantees.

nah its an ecogroled they were phasing out 90w and going to 13w5 so they just popped out a 135 to me cant wait to have it in my hands and see how bad this baby is 135w same price as some 30-50w lights

You completed a Kessil grow? How did that work out? Got pics?
No pics, sorry. I chopped a bit early, but the grow surprised me. I think, with a single Kessil, it takes awhile longer for buds to fill out. It's hard to believe it's only 30w of light...amazing that anything happens at all. I'm flowering a BlueMystic now and it's looking pretty good as it gets it in gear, buds everywhere. A bit leggy, but no complaints.

Anyone have any past experience with Sunshine system GrowUFO 90 watt. i recently purchased one for 200 and have been growing with it for about a week now plants are looking perfect but with such a small light how many plants do you think i will be able to grow and flower sucessfully with one UFO it says it has the output equivilent to a 400watt HPS. and how far will i keep them from the light? responses appreciated . cheers!

you got taken for a ride yo aint no 90w led equal to 400w hps at least not in flower but i seen plenty 90w panels in veg beat a 400w hps or mh down but they almost always fail in flower i'm glad the panel i got runs full cycle so no need for separate veg or bloom lights

looking good! probably a month from harvest with all those white pistils... not trying to be an ass but they still have a way to go to even an early pull

looking good though and this extra time of necessary growing will get you more yield

Don't worry Cereall, these ladies will not get pulled early. By the calender these should be ready in 1 week. My temps were 5 to 10 degrees lower than I wanted for the first month after flip so it will take a couple extra weeks minimum to get these ladies to full maturity. Interestingly the trichs have already turned cloudy on some plants. No Amber though. Have a funny feeling the pistils will all turn orange at once or not at all.

sounds good! keep us updated with pics... i have had a few strains still shooting white pistils when mature... but not that many is all

Those sure do look purdy :-) Deff 3 weeks plus to harvest time though IMHO. I just cut down and posted some harvest pics. Love the LED buds. Stole an early bud and smoked it which is a major no-no because I'm asmatic but was so clean had almost no issues. The crystal production is demented.
