Hey everybody who is using LEDs out there. Lets join up and start chattin about this and that. Figuring crap out. Seeing what works for you, but not me, etc. etc.

It would be much appreciated if only people who USE CURRENTLY leds for mostly full grows, or vegetative grows using only LEDs.

HID users, we already know you are better than us, and your buds are bigger than ours. But there is a first time for everything, and a new beginning at ever end of something old.

ALSO IF YOU ARE AN LED SALESMAN TRYING TO SELL YOUR PRODUCT THIS IS NOT THE THREAD FOR YOU! STAY AWAY! IF YOU ARE AFFILIATED WITH A COMPANY AND HAVE BIAS FEEDBACK WITHOUT RESULTS. STAY AWAY!

Thank you all, and I hope this thread EXPLODES in growth...

LED USERS UNITE!

Current Status: Not Growing Yet
Current equipment: Prosource Jumbo 180W UFO.

Seeing as how I just made a topic about half an hour ago about LED's, I'm gonna sit on the sidelines and see whats up. I'm also VERY interested in hearing what LED users gotta say.
Good to have you on board haze. As soon as some others begin to give their input and experiences, you should learn and see a great deal of information.

There is a lot of B.S. out there, and I didn't realize it until I was out a pretty penny on a stupid 55W panel of LEDs. Things have changed since then, as they do, but only for the better, which is good.

Stay tuned Haze! Glad your on board!

What is the grow period for LED's..Does it take a lot longer. I haven't really heard many folk's talking about it. Really, any light is a good light for a plant, some are just more powerful than some. So descriminating against a certain light is just plain ignorance, especially if you've never tried them yourself, so all the hater's can pipe down! lol, for real

Good call BradyBoe! You hit the nail on the head.

I have heard that it may extend flowering into a long period while using LED's, however, I am not an expert on the subject, so I cannot say for certain.

Thanks for the comment, and thanks for standing up for our right!

Just read all of Irish' journal talking about the 180w, and although the 180 is extremely enticing, I think the 90w would fit my space better and would fill out the cab with the light it needs anyways, at a much more reasonable price that I can pay right now. Thanks for that link fuoro, and lets see some results!

I'm totally anticipating irish's harvest now. I just have to see it to believe it, and so far, shits looking stellar. LED here i come, son!

He had a problem with spider mites, which made the plants topple basically. It could be another 8 weeks before we have a solid test with Irish or myself. Stay tuned Son...you won't be sorry. Irish would tell you he had great results with his 90W, which was also from prosource, and was not the new 5-band technology. So...food for thought..

I really don't mind that my CFL's are taking a little longer. I think it's more about the nutes and the soil really. If you are using LED's and you are feeding them right, in good soil, you're going to grow some good bud. And that's what it's all about, DANKNESS!!! mm mmm mmmmmmmmmm..

Zig Zag, you just came in saying rude thing's that didn't need to be said..You shouldn't alway's listen to what you hear and then ask something so negative and rude about LED's, to an LED user, that's all. Just show more respect dude, that's all. Peaceasy greasy..lol :blsmoke::mrgreen:bongsmilie n hit some of dis chit sun.:joint:
I didnt say anything rude...when I said "I heard leds suck ass", I meant exactly that...thats what ive heard from friends of mine who gave them a try and then immediatly went back to mh/hps...if you think that was rude, then I dont know what I can do for you, you guys seem pretty defensive, I have respect for everyone. unsubscribed :-|

Dont ask, "whats the best light out there", ask "whats the best light for MY purpose"

LEDs have worked for me so far, on my very small grow. Understand, though LEDs have worked for me so far, HIDs seem to have better penetration, intensity, and are cheaper. Also, know that most LED configurations dont provide all the spectrums you need; its best to supplement with something else. And they are only cost effective for small personal grows. If you tried to do a large grow you would spend a small fortune!

But, i like what ive seen so far. and the technology will only improve from here.

I compare the LED backlash to the L4 backlash a few years back. When i first got a 4 cylinder car, all the V8 people laughed, and said economy cars suck ass. its not as fast, true, but its the RIGHT VEHICLE FOR MY PURPOSE. People say its not the best car, but it works, and cheaply, so its the best car for me. Those V8 people stopped laughing when gas hit 4 bucks a gallon. HID users will come around eventually. remember the first 4 cylinders to hit the market? They sucked! Now there are some bad ass cars that are gas sipping L4s! Give it time, have faith.

CSI,

We greatly appreciate your input, and your post was very informative. A dollar to me, may be worth 10 dollars to you. Money is an extreme variable for people, to say it is not cost effective at any rate, could be argued with. But I am not here to argue. You have contributed an excellent post, and your information shall be read by many! :peace:
