Led light comparable to 1000 watt hps??

65 degrees in a 4x4 tent with 500-650watts of leds could probably put you in the 80 degree range.
not with enough air circulation to keep humidity under 40%. The way I have my tent setup it is getting a constant supply of upstairs air which is 65-67 degrees and 40% humidity. Air goes through the tent, warms up but also picks up more humidity from the girls so stays 40%, then is pushed downstairs where it gets cooled a bit which causes the humidity to jump but the dehumidifier takes it back down to 40% and its just a continuous cycle. All these people with PM issues and shit.... its all about that airflow. I added a second smaller tent with two 315's partly to keep temps up when lights off in big tent. I also just want to play around with cmh cuz its so fancy and shit.

Right before I switched to LED, I was going to try cmh I’ve been tempted to buy a setup or convert but can’t justify it with this left over hps equipment I got esp since I use it for supplemental winter heat if I ever have low temps.

You have everything dialed in for your situation and have no reason to try led right now. Though with how you have yours setup one of those 650-700watt leds would likely work you would have to probably dial down some of that air transfers but without all that extra forced heat from the hps i think it could even out.. I’m always trying to get HID guys to atleast try it, I was extremely skeptical at first

Im pretty sure i would start to have humidity issues if i did that. I like to have a DENSE canopy, need at least 200-300 cfm going through the tent at all times. The bigger issue would be my temps are low 70s right now, with led i would need to get my temps up another 10 degrees. Ive seen plenty of people say led yield is shit if you cant keep canopy temps at 80-85.

Are you using co2 to get that? Ive yet to hit that but i dont use netting either to spread out the plants.
No. Just a very full tent.

This was the run that made me give up on autoflowers

and this was my first trial run with photos. Made many mistakes but still yielded great. It was a covid summer grow so it was to hot and had light down to 600-750w most of it.

Current grow has me drooling already. Just flipped to flower.

Hey everyone im running a 1000 watt hps and would like to switch over to a led system soon. My friend has been using a 90 watt ufo and its supposedly equivalent to a 400 watt hps. Now I've been doing a bunch of research on legit companies and not such crazy pricing and came across the MAGNUM LEDS which I like a lot.

They say their Magnum Plus2 directly replaces a 1000 watt hid. Doesnt say exactly how many watts just has 330watt power draw.

So my question is what led wattage would be the exact equivalent to a 1000 watt hps?????

(P.S. if your not gonna answer the question please dont answer at all. so tired of irrelevant answers!!!)
600 to 650 quality fixture

Deff nice wow. I thought you were talking per plant 1000g i was thinking thats a tree at that point most ive gotten is 12 ounces on a plant but i grow in a 2.5x3 space so its mostly verticle and any bigger veg id run out of room as i do two plants to fill that space under a 1000 w hps. I need to go with a non bucket system or rwdc to be able to handle plants that size. That first pic you had is amazing lol.

Those magnum plus things look like turds...

600w of hlg lighting will replace 1k hps but then you'll need a 1k heater running to keep wm warm

Oh you think peoples growing knowledge has declined over the last 8 years?
I think that the level of knowledge which the average grower has today has definitely declined in the past decade. The internet is a great thing, in terms of providing information to growers, but it is also a double edged sword; these days, any idiot with internet access who has a couple of grows under their belt can be a self-proclaimed expert and put out terrible information all the time. Back in the old days when I learned to grow, there was no internet. We had to rely on books written by experts, and College horticulture classes. So, yeah from that perspective I do think the average knowledge has declined. The experts do get smarter, but the idiots seem to get stupider at a quicker pace (and there's a lot more idiots than there are experts, but they all have an internet connection just the same).

I think theres a lot more idiots out there growing who otherwise wouldnt have risked it due to legalities. People with 100$ and a dream of a farm growing autoflowers in a window sill.... But those of us who actually give a fuck... we are getting much, much stronger.

I think if noobs didn't post so much nonsense about "how to grow best" on the internet, the growers who do give a fuck about wanting to learn, will actually learn good info. I think that when we have noobs recommending dumb stuff like 30% rh in veg, and you have other noobs listening to this advice, it does actually cause the learning curve to become weaker. Of course you get self-validation, so you may feel stronger, but that's only a mirage.

Yeah even as someone who is relatively confident in their electrical abilities, I'm not going to risk burning the house down and insurance not covering it because it was caused by some home made grow light. UL listed is the only way to go. Even if you do everything right but there is an issue with the driver (something that you have no part in building) you will be blamed for a fire.

I have a smaller CMH tent. A single 315 costs less than a dollar a day to run. Not a big deal.

1. No. Philips is coming out with lights that are only available to a very select group of people and they are the first lights that truly blow HPS away in terms of yield per watt.

2. That would be kind of silly because your cooling/heating requirements for HPS are vastly different than LED. What you would spend in AC for a grow like that would basically give you the money for LED lights.

3. I do as well. Growing with bulbs is like a little miniature sun. Feeling that HPS light on your skin and feeling like your outside on a sunny 75 degree day when its actually -10 and theres 5 feet of snow... so refreshing. Im pretty satisfied with just doing one winter grow. The HPS does a fantastic job of self regulating grow room temps. I would have to likely heat the grow room with electric heaters to run LED and at that point im not saving any electricity.
Where are you getting this info? Philips rep used to hang in here back in the day, also promised us that a 600w+ cmh elite agro bulb was coming out soon..... Never happened.

What do you think Phillips is going to do that isn't already capable with top bin osram, nichia, cree, blux, samie, etc diodes? Nothing left that's revolutionary in terms of design spread/output imo

Not easy to "blow away" a thouie DE hps either..... Yeah, growers throwing some crazy gpw# for years in here===Doesn't mean that's the case
