Yea, they are in 5 gallons and I've got about 20 gallons of soil still left over from when I mixed it up. Planning on topdressing again this weekend before the stretch so I'll add some more soil to the top!
The beauty of a sip is you can dome the soil quite high, just cover with black plastic. It will fill with roots in no time.

Still an awesome cabinet everytime I check this thread out.

just made my first batch of LAB. I’m about to separate the cheese curd but I noticed it still smells like sour milk. Chris trump always says It smells sweet. I’m curious to what you experienced?

Thank you!!
I know the sweet smell came right when the rice wash was ready to start the whole process. Once it was mixed with milk and all curdled up and separated, it smelled like straight cheese to me without any sweet notes. I think I remember them saying that after the rice wash has fermented for a couple days that it should smell sweet and that was the signal it was ready. If it had any type of sour smell it means you waited too long to mix it with your milk.

Ah shit, like less than 5 minutes ago I gave a healthy amount of cheese to my dog and chickens. They loved it but my dog also will eat chicken poop so that’s not the best indicator.

I left the rice wash outside for two days, next time I’ll check it more frequently so I can get aquatinted with the smell.I think you nailed where I messed up.

I was pretty gung-ho about processing the cheese before I started it, now:spew:

I think I’ll let the chicken finish it off and I’ll give it another go later. I’m going to assume the LAB itself is okay. I’ll test it on my veggies first.

Day 65/58

Tied everything off to the tomato rings and opened up the canopy last night. Can't even tell this morning haha. Doing another top dress tonight along with some more soil to give some more room for the roots to spread out. Flipping to flower schedule tomorrow.

Day 66/59 End of Veg

All 3 ladies are about 2 months old and spread out around the tomato rings how i want them. Tonight i removed all of the straw and added close to 2 gallons of my soil mix on top mounded towards the stalk at the advice of @myke. Gave them their stretch top dressings of Craft Blend, Buildaflower and some Kashi Blend. I didn't have any black plastic bags so I made due with some cut to fit tarp that is easily removable for future top dressings. I went this route for flower to help keep the humidty down in the cabinet. Tomorrow the ladies will go to sleep at 830 am for their first full 12 hours of darkness. It's been a process getting to this point and learning the mainlining technique along with the wonders of SIP growing. I did clean up one more time below the rings to get rid of any suckers down low. Everything that was plucked was ironically the last set of matching growth. Everything else new above it is alternating nodes now. Looking forward to them starting their stretch and see how crazy it gets in here haha. I favor big defoliation so in a few weeks I'll be stripping them some more. That's it for now. Fingers crossed its a breeze to harvest time.

Day 4 of 12/12

Well, my secret garden has revealed itself within the house hold lol. I woke up to a pretty dank aroma this morning with all three plants starting to stink with their own separate stank. Will have to pick up a filter this weekend. You can't see the top of the cabinet where the exhaust is so I'm thinking of just exhausting through the filter and leave it mounted outside the box. Space may become quiet valuable in the cab and a filter inside would take up quite a bit of headroom. Hmm, maybe I can create some sort of built-in whole ceiling collection duct with removable carbon filter that can be emptied and refilled. :o lol I'm stoned right now. Flipped the switch on Friday after topdressing and refilling reservoirs to their 2 gallon capacity. All 3 are almost dry. Looking down the fill tube I can also see roots well to the bottom of the reservoirs. 22 equal mains have turned this 3 plant grow into a mainlined SOG haha. Well, not much else to update on and being a picture junkie I took a bunch of photos!!

This canopy is thick!!! Gonna get a couple more smaller fans to circulate the air underneath the growth.

Cheers!

Double check the deals thread. There was a link for the 6" hurricane fans. If you get one, they are like $20, but you can get a 2 pack for like $23 I believe.

Edit: $20.26 for 1. $21.00 for 2

Ayyyyye, good looks on the deal!! I may just scoop them for future endeavors but I've got two of them above the canopy now and I tried to put one underneath the canopy and it was just way too cramped. Fan was shit whipping the lower growth around even on lowest setting. Will settle for some little 4 inch fans just to have some air moving down there and not take up a whole lot of space.

Your grow is looking great btw!!

Thank you. Just got the 2x2 vivosun tent and light set up for the auto I got started. I need to finish rearranging bedroom to get the 3x3 out there and the spiderfarmer light for it and then get the 4x4 put up that I had to pickup to fit the phlizon light. My little 1 tent grow turned into a 3 tent endeavor in very little space. It's a good problem to have, just a little cramped and difficult to figure out the logistics. Anywho, here's a pic of the little 2 week old auto in its new home.

So my humidifier was doing great until everything was getting bigger lol. Some of the undergrowth up front was dripping water right after it turned off. Went outside to ponder what to do and within seconds I saw the left over section from cutting fill tubes. Took out the directional cap in the humidifier and what do you know. Perfect fit and it gets it up circulating again. Lucky DIY fix haha.

Got about 4 deer park bottles cut and stacked together to make a funnel so I can stand and fill the rezs.

Stoked I found this thread. I am brand new, stumbled into my first grow seemingly by accident, and I’m working with a relatively small (3x4x6) space. Gave me a couple good ideas for my 2nd run. Pumped to see these ladies do their thing!

Great journal.

Day 8 of 12/12

Starting the second week of the flip and id say things are going uh....great lol.

Was gonna plan on defoliating at day 21, but things are getting a little cramped in here haha. More fans leaves the size of my face. May have to clean up sooner than day 2 Definitely have roots in the rez now as I can see them in my water level sight tube lol.

These ladies are absolutely loving the SIPs now!!20220923_230943.jpg20220930_082518.jpg

Plants are at least a foot above the tomato rings during the first week of stretch. Once I hard mount the lights to the ceiling in the cabinet I'll have about 32 inches of space between the tops and the lights for them to continue their stretch. So if they stretch another foot or so I should be good in that aspect. Definitely gonna stick with some heavy defoliation to help free up some airflow in here. Humidifier hasn't ran in 2 days as the plants are keeping the humidity up all by themselves now. Looking into getting a dehumidifier in the next week or two. Nodes are stacking up, still a little tight but if they keep stretching they should open up a little but more. Temps are at a constant 78 F with lights on and 68F lights out. Humidity is at 65 with lights on and around 75 lights out. Lights are running about 60% and Gorilla Zkittlez in the middle is still being a bit sensitive to the light, but not as much as she was during Veg. Francos Lemon Cheeze has caught up to the other two ladies as far as growth and Apple Blossom has taking reign of the biggest and fastest of the bunch.

I think that's about it for now! Thank you to everyone that's been following along!

Cheers!

Day 14 of 12/12

Quick Friday night update!! Didn't quite make it to day 21 for the first defoliation. Plucked some leaves the other night to open them up because I was looking them over and a lot of leaves were dripping wet from laying on top of each other!! Defoliated and a lot of smaller nodes quickly caught up to the main nodes. Almost all of them are showing signs of flowering. Will wait until they all got some little pom poms going before calling official first day.
