Nice! Hows the high of that A.Haze. I'm looking for a daytime strain to grow next.
This strain packs quite the punch. Got a lemony, spice cabinet, inhale and a candy sweet exhale. First little bit is a strong dazed feeling followed by the swiftest kick into high gear that I've ever had a sativa give me. I thought I had a pretty good tolerance but at times it was a bit over the top haha. This was sampled off a good size j and had me cleaning the whole house for hours. I definitely recommend it!!

2- 5 gallon totes per build and risers were set to allow me ~2 gallons of water in the reservoir. Wicks consists of some 2 inch net pots strapped together to reach the bottom of the reservoir.

Changed up the water level tube from the pvc pipe to some tubing on the outside of bottom tote for easier viewing.

Finally!!!! All my materials came in yesterday, a whole day early!! I got right to work...after work lol.
20220802_180737.jpg

I forgot to get some wetting agent so I saturated all of my peat moss and mixed in my compost while I was waiting on my delivery.

20220802_182124.jpg

I ended up making 4 Cubic Feet of soil using BAS products to follow Coots Recipe.
12 gal. Peat Moss
12 gal. Aeration (8 gal BAS Pumice/4 gal of BAS Rice Hulls)
6 gal. Black Kow compost
8 cups of BAS Clackamas based Nutrients
16 cups of BAS Clackamas based Minerals

Mixed thoroughly and lightly watered

Totes getting ready to be filled

20220802_200251.jpg
Packed the wicks with straight saturated peat and left some mounds on top of them

20220802_201355.jpg
Placed pots as placeholders to make transplanting easier. Each tote has about 4 gallons in soil with a few inches to spare to allow for top dressings.
Having a SIP with living soil in such a small container I forsee quite a few topdressings throughout.

20220802_203604.jpg
A lil bit of BAS Craft Blend
20220802_203830.jpg

A lil bit of Kashi Blend

20220802_204428.jpg
Some BAS Build-a-Flower

20220802_204642.jpg
A sprinkle of BAS 12 seed Cover Crop

20220803_214336.jpg

Added some Barley Straw Mulch cover and watered everything in. Reservoirs are filled and we are SIPing....well almost haha. The 2 end seedlings took their sweet ass time after breaking soil but I've got everything in the cabinet dialed I'm now. Only thing I'm trying to overcome is my humidity. I can cycle the fan on and off for different configurations over an hour and I can get humidity up but Temps are also rising. With fan on constant I'm at 80 degrees and 50 percent humidity with lights on. And it holds steady. I'm out of floor space so looks like I'll be figuring out a shelving unit to hold a small, but bigger humidifier (than the little amazon bottle one) to get my RH up. With the cabinet being insulated, I do t have huge temp swings with lights out as I did in the mini fridge. Lights out, I maintain a constant 76 degrees. That's actually 3 degrees warmer than what house is at. Mini fridge would usually get about 4 degrees cooler than what the house was. I attribute that to it being a metal shell and absorbing the cooled air in the laundry room.
Oh, and went from 20/4 to 18/6 starting next light cycle.
Wheew, I'm rambling now lol.

Anyways, TL;DR- Finally finished soil, filled my SIPs and we're cruising.
:blsmoke:
Cheers!!

I go 3 cups food per cuft.I usally start with bigger plants though. You can make a hole say 6" deep 1" across and fill with food.Kinda like a fertilizer spike.

Your going to like these sips.

Day 21/14

This past weekend was rough in the grow cabinet. Humdity dropped absurdly low to right around 30% and Temps were up near 85. Had some severe droop (coupled with a little overwatering) and canoeing of majority of leaves on Gorilla Zkittlez. Tinkered around with everything, fans, exhaust, light height and intensity, hung soaked towel to raise humidty, everything lol. Got Temps lowered and humidty raised up to almost 70% and within 4 hours had immediate recovery on her.

Humidifier is in transit now to help maintain humidity and hopefully no more hanging towels by this weekend.

Gorilla Zkittlez is finishing week 3 and Lemon Cheese and Apple Blossom are finishing week 2.

Have a nice cover crop pushing thru the straw now. Over the course of the week the SIPs took up just under a gallon of water. I believe the pots in the SIP soil are drinking from this moisture thru the air holes in those pots because pot is staying decently saturated. Have not watered since Saturday into the 1 gallon pots.

And here is the whole gang. Lights have been lowered to about 24 inches off canopy and turned up to about 40% These numbers are still fluctuating because I'm trying to figure out what GZ likes. The other two are unfazed and really taking off now. Once I can get my humidity stabilized everything else should level out and not jump all over.

P.s. it's looking like the GZ is taking on more of the indica pheno. Anybody got experience with GZ and thr different phenos. I've never had a plant start smelling in her 2nd week. Very sweet fuel smelling. Stem rub is even stronger.

Cheers!!

At the dollar store you may find a plastic dome, mine are about 5gallon size.Just drop them over and humidity is 100% in 5 minutes, they have an opening on top to regulate air.

Quick and easy.

Day 24/17

humidifier has been set up and we have been holding steady at 75 degrees and ~70% humdity. according to some VPD charts I'm right at 0.79 which is within spec for early veg. I've been way outside of this the whole time.

Lights are sitting right about 20 inches and running about 50ish%. PPFD is right about 270 on the end plants and 340 on the middle. With DLI sitting about 18.0 and 24.0.

Ladies have perked up and look quite comfortable for now. I did topdress with some Kashi, buildaflower topdress, some cover crop and straw.

Waiting till the ends get a couple more nodes and then transplanting everybody into the SIPs. Once they get settled in I'll top all of them down to same height and start the process of forming my manifolds.

So glad I can finally relax and just let them do their thing with everything dialed in just right.

Cheers!!

I'm happy with them so far. The review and testing on cocoforcannabis . Com kinda swayed me to purchase them, that and I got really good deal on Prime Day haha. This is my first run with them so we'll see how they get me thru flower as well. But for the money I'd say give it a shot.

Day 26/19
Gorilla Zkittlez was drinking up her water everyday and getting a little frazzled being in a 1 gallon pot. Slid her out of her pot and saw why lol. Even the little ones were starting to get root bound. Hit up the grow shop for some root mykos this morning and transplanted before lights out for the day. So we are officially SIPing now!! Laid down some more layers of topdress stuff and lightly watered everything in.
