No, I wasn't a roustabout, I was a floorhand! Ok, roughneck, floorhand, rig hand, worm, all the same shit North Dakota was the biggest leap in personal growth that I ever took and I plan to go back because well, financially, that's the only way to get ahead. At home I have trouble even getting by, especially when unexpected car expenses creep up and I don't have money tucked away. I've got $200 in my pocket, and I drove to walmart to get a half gallon of horizon organic whole milk & cereal. That ski mountain job fair day is in a week, got a call from the coordinator of the ski programs today. She said I'd be working 4 days a week. I'm gonna guess my checks would be like $200/week. if I get a place to stay, the money for rent + gas money eats up that $800/month
$200 on the rig was less than half a day's work with a company like Trinidad. At home, it's 4 days...
So the thing is I'll be able to sustain myself if i BUDGET. I'll need that $1,500 refund though. $400 for gas & tolls back to ND in january and a solid grand for food/emergency expenses
then once again i'll see the dough pile and collect at a rate of multiple G's per week
