sup RIU?

last night i parked the car on a street that goes behind my parent's house. in the morning, my mom came over and knocked on my window and said park in the driveway cuz a cop will ticket you if he sees you parked there. I'm thinking, whatever...cops don't just cruise down dead end (cul de sac) neighborhoods.

parent's are both sorta bitter toward me, father much more so. my mom actually offers encouragement, saying she'll help me find a place, help with $, etc. my dad, wtf, idk.

carne got it right, this IS the CTO of Stanley Black & Decker dad...between salary, bonuses, executive stock options, real estate, i've estimated he's pulling somewhere in the $500k range annually. So he's not doing too bad

Time to stop looking at dad's worth and look at your own. I'm sure there's some concern and it's not all bitterness, it's not uncommon for parents to want their children to succeed or to at least be able to stand on their own.

and did dad come from wealth or did he bust his ass for it? I have an uncle worth allot and his son never got much handed to him, he had to work because that's how my uncle did it. By busting his own ass. It's not something you father wants but needs to do in his mind if I had to guess.

if that's the case, i'd be kissing dad's ass cause he's done something right along the way.
i had a friend that got kicked out at 13 because she is gay. she's a surgeon now. it can be done.
good luck kid :eyesmoke:

p.s. can i ask how old you are?

Why don't you have a job with dad? How was your relationship growing up? Are you just one of those kids (most) who feel like everything should be handed to you? Be honest with yourself.

That used to be standard procedure. Thank God my parents were supportive when I first came out. I don't know what I would do without my family.

last year my life shattered apart in a span of a month... I lost my- job, car, house, wife, children, all material possessions, everything. I was hammered down upon with scrutiny and was looked at with prejudice. I was persecuted, tortured, and targeted. My life repeatedly threatened, stolen from... etc etc
I had a backpack full of clothes and slept in the bushes. I literally starved here n there. I refused to accept government assistance (welfare), or steal or lie or cheat. I received help from some good friends with places to stay and food here n there. I worked small and took it step by step. I now have my own vehicle, am regularly working, have my kids back and my own house. small steps, concrete plans, and being a good person through it all goes a long ways.

It's not about your vendetta either.

Carne shared an anecdote related to Sunny's, emphasising how terrible it is that someone could be kicked out at that age by saying he couldn't imagine coping in such a situation. This is in contrast with the OP's situation; he is older and not being kicked out for something he cannot help like his sexuality, thus he is not so unique in his situation and can/should get out of it.

Forums are for sharing personal opinions and stories related to the topic. If we did not post about US this would be an amalgamation of factual articles and citations from others only.

Surely you have something better to do with your last few weeks of freedom than harass a gay guy on the internet.
