Wow there's a lot of "Ick" in this thread.

OP hasn't given us much information about Abedin's allegations. A quick search pulled up a story about her memoir and a brief quote about the incident... sounds like she was in her 20s (senators have to be at least 30, but obviously could be much older), he invited her in for a coffee, "“Then, in an instant, it all changed. He plopped down to my right, put his left arm around my shoulder, and kissed me, pushing his tongue into my mouth, pressing me back on the sofa[.]” She then says something about wishing in the moment that she could erase that 10 seconds from her memory.

I suspect she's being a bit euphemistic and she's leaving something out. Be honest, you're sticking your tongue down a woman's throat for 10 seconds and you're not touching her breasts or ass? The minute an intimate part of the body is involved that starts sounding like indecent assault at the very least.

Unless this scenario sounds like you on a Saturday Night ("[he/she] seems interested, time to jump on [him/her] and shove my tongue into [his/her] mouth") you're probably in the clear. If you're something other than a hormone-riddled teenager maybe save the freedom kisses for lip contact two or three.

As for Abedin, it's a story she's telling about her life. Something that happened a long time ago. There's no threat of legal action involved. The "Social Injustice Warriors" can calm the fuck down.
Never!! I’m a 48 year old teenager.

She did, the question is, is it sexual assault? Cause that’s a legal term, arrests etc.
Oh, you are saying she pressed charges?

Because that would be when legal terms matter right? Or are you just trying to whip up some more cry baby shit that INCEL's cling to to bitch about women not wanting random coworkers/superiors/dick heads treating them like a sex puppet.

Again, this was not a random guy coming out of nowhere and kissing her. They were at a wedding party and enjoying each other’s company.

but if some dude I was hanging out with tried kissing me, or even snuck a kiss in, I wouldn’t call it assault, I’d call it a misunderstanding. And it has happened so I’m speaking from experience.
What if he was a figure skater coming out of the women’s John ?

Sounds like a "power move" gone wrong.

A lot of people in "illustrious" positions, think they have some hall pass to be a douche or dick. And the wealthier you are, the less likely you'll suffer any repercussions.

Agreed that’s what I’m saying it’s nuts how in the world we live in today people are so quick to label those things as a type of sexual assault
Reminiscent of who is pushing against CRT and why.
If people are calling behavior acceptable to you as a type of assault or sexual misconduct or both, you may want to examine yourself for why you emitted this classic sex-bigot dog whistle. It’s the beaten dogs who howl this loud.

Not howling at all I just think every action doesn’t need to be critiqued so much to spin it into sexual assault or a rape allegation nothing more behind it just a opinion ms Freud

What is with the cries for unaccountability that is going on with the right wing snowflakes?

Should everyone just not expect people to grow the fuck up and start to understand the world outside of their little bubbles because they never had to in the past?

They probably dressed provocatively
So obviously asking for it :wall:
Talk about blaming the victim. Wasn’t a fairly recent sexual assault trial focused on “can a slut be raped?” These attitudes run deep. As long as the Repugs erode education and social awareness, I don’t see them as being expunged in my lifetime without open war.

No. They will just drag the guys name through the mud and she will sell some books. Maybe he deserves it, maybe not.

I'm single, and I will say that making the first move is terrifying these days. I don't want them to feel rejected or assaulted, so it's a tough navigation. I think we're at the point where women need to lead that dance.

I’m not saying it’s acceptable, we will probably find out he was married etc. I’m saying it’s not assault.
