Mix them up together to get the best results... I use Megacrop in there as well...

Hey ffof growmies, I have a question to posit. I have 2 seedlings started in straight ffof like always and 1 of them has been getting orange rust looking spots on the leaves. Nothing rubs off when I touch them, and with each new set they become fewer. I looked through my loupe and there are no mites. The spots are irregular in shape. I use distilled water. I think maybe the ffof is burning slightly as the first couple sets had a bit of leaf twist. The other plant is fine. I pulled off the spotted leaves but here is a pic of 1 pulled yesterday and another pic of both plants right now. What do yall think? I've never had any seedling issues before.

Well after considering all the answers I got, lol, I went ahead and transplanted into 5 gallon buckets of my own blend of ffof, composted manure with a cup of lime and epsom salts and a handful of Dr. Earth pelletized fertilizer and mykos. They are doing better already. I am hoping this mix doesn't run out of nutes as fast as straight ffof. Before my autos would go 6 weeks on the ffof and water. If I can get a few more weeks without having to add nutes I'll be happy. I'm probably going to toss in a dozen red worms too. Last time I did my plants liked it. Happy Grows to you all!

Some people are always looking for validation! Maybe he is just unsure of himself and is a whiny diaper baby trolling for a problem! Way to give it to him in a nice unthreatening manner. Some people just don’t get it and are always looking for a fight. They are just unhappy with their lives and want the comfort of making everyone else miserable! :hump:

Let me know your ” versions “ as im always playing with amendment ratios.

Tip : Screen your Fox Farm occasionally ( or look thru it ) - sometimes there are some quality issues.

Sticks / debris / etc.

Good time to add Neem meal for soil conditioner / bug prevention ( gnats )

I start my beans in used FFOF or HF in solo cup. I transplant into FFOF with 1 cup dolomite lime, 1/2 cup epsom salts and 1/2 gallon of composted cow manure(all per 5gal.) I add 20% perlite and i add plenty of mykos to the transplant hole. I need to get some neem meal as gnats can be an issue. How much do I add? I know this sounds like a lot of shit to add to "amended soil" but my plants have been happier since I started doing it. Oh btw, I screened my FFOF and found rocks, alot of bigger sticks, a jolly rancher wrapper and a penny. So thanks for the tip.

The yeast? what type would you guys recommend for activating a bag of happy/ffof? Beer yeast? Beer? Regular yeast from the store? ive also been seeing oats (combination?) as an alternate

I have heard that baker’s yeast would work … I personally never tried it. Heard oats in soil works too .
Might have to experiment myself.

BUT … I have used beer ( even flat beer ) in a compost pile.
