Fascism and the Republican Party

Democrats care about people; Republicans “care” about profit. See the difference? Policy action speaks louder than words. But really, when you see a moron try and twist their two brain cells up into a pretzel to parrot whatever they heard on their conservative news, just call bullshit. They won’t know what to do.

Republicans care about people also. The Liopleurodon in the ointment is that to them, less than 10% of humans are people.

Well, Fogdog you have the proper name you are damn sure living in a fog!!!
The only people living in a fog are people like you with their heads up trump's ass breathing in his nasty foul odor. It's worse than huffing paint and you're showing signs of acute intoxication which is making you dumb. You can either leave your head up his ass and continue breathing that stench or you can pull it out and seek treatment for your nasty addiction.

Anyone that doesn't believe that trump panders to the fascists and racists is beyond ignorant. trump's racism goes way back to the 1980's when he took out a full page ad in the newspaper calling for the death penalty for 5 minority teens falsely accused of raping a jogger in Central Park. They served over a decade in prison before being exonerated, released from prison, and winning a multi million dollar lawsuit for wrongful imprisonment.

To this day trump refuses to apologize and continues to insinuate that they were guilty despite the real perpetrator being caught and tied to the crime by DNA. Had trump had his way 5 innocent minority youths would have been executed.

trump is pure garbage and people like you living in his fog are no better. What's also true is that the only people trump despises more than people with brown skin are poor ignorant white people which is why he won't hire them on his properties and instead chooses to bring in foreign workers with brown skin through the H2B Visa program. trump wouldn't shake your hand or even want to talk to a lowlife like you.

Have a crappy day

This historian says Trump-GOP MAGA are not fascists because:

Fascism was a response to long-term trends and what was going on after 1918. What you see today, what Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene are saying, is completely unoriginal. It is an attempt to resurrect those responses in the interwar period to democratic and liberal rule. It’s not clear to me that you can call them fascists, since fascism was a historical phenomenon. Simply because you think violence is good, and you think racism is good, doesn’t make you a fascist.

He goes on to say today's GOP MAGA are

violent antidemocrats who are also violently racist. And the Republican Party is in danger of becoming the party of violence, antidemocracy, and racism. If there is any kind of similarity with the interwar period, it’s that you have conservatives willing to collaborate for political reasons with people who are often violent and racist and antidemocratic.

So, they aren't fascist but they sure act like them? Hence Biden's "semi-fascist" term. But we all know he meant fascist. It's a loaded term and a lot of liberals are repulsed by direct confrontation.

The historian doesn't think we should avoid confrontation:

You don’t make compromises with them. You have to call these things out. It’s important to call conspiracy theories out and debunk them. It’s a difficult thing to do, but all these things need to be called out. You cannot make alliances with people like this, because these ideas are so corrosive. [They] will swallow you whole. You cannot make idiotic statements like violence is part of democratic discourse.

I think the historian is and academic who is splitting hairs. Nobody says GOP MAGA is Nazi or Mussolini's fascism. But GOP MAGA is violent, antidemocratic, autocratic authoritarian, uses racist scapegoating, hierarchical, and nationalist. It looks like a fascist, walks like a fascist, talks like a fascist. It is fascist without the cool cars.

Republicans are about 700% more likely to lie to you than Democrats. The “Both sides“ narrative fell apart around the time McCain picked his running mate.

McCain might very well have been President if he hadn't picked that nasty Harpy from Alaska.

Remember when all the idiots on the right thought she was hot? As if that has anything to do with being qualified.

It now appears she's gone from Hot to Not.

autocrats do have the nicest autos.

That said, I agree that this is the sort of hair-splitting that has a collaborationist effect.

Iran and Saudi are fascist theocracies.

I remember when she came out and did her acceptance speech about 15 minutes in thinking that the Republicans struck gold with her, then as she kept going just got more and more worried for our nation.

Well she was reading what they gave her. Once she started going off script it became obvious that she had less brains than a gumball machine. I actually felt sorry for McCain. He had no idea how bad she was and those idiots doing the VP search for him were a bunch of nimrods that completely failed. I remember when he went out to say that Obama was an American who love his country after that thing had whipped up all the racist, anti-Muslim, born in Kenya garbage and got booed by the crowd. That was the moment the race was over. Those people were so whipped into a frenzy over Obama that they booed their own Presidential candidate for not pushing the lies.

Like him or not McCain went out with some dignity and was not going to be a part of that nonsense. Requesting that Obama deliver his Eulogy was his final act at trying to disassociate himself from what the Republican party has become. There was a time when they all got along. Now the Republican party is boeberts, greene, gaetz, and a bunch of other sewer rats without brains screaming and yelling, saying absolutely nothing other than "Hate them!"

That was also the moment that McCain won my respect. The man was an American hero through and through.

As much as I was grateful with Obama’s presidency, if McCain would have picked Lieberman (and they won), it is hard to imagine that Russia would have kept their foothold in our politics like they have ever since.

I didn’t see any Biden flags nor Pelosi hats did you? How do you know they were Democrats?

Especially when time and again it was the idiots like the “boogaloo boys” and white nationalists that were using the protest as cover to destroy minority majority cities.

Well, you apparently know everything so I will leave it at this, it's Democrats like you that refuse to have a rational discussion about the problems in this country that are the problem with this country.

Drop the right wing propagandist act and I’ll be more than happy to discuss whatever.

Because imo people who are spreading the lies to divide us that are being funded by rich dickheads who want to avoid taxes for another generation, are the real issue. And they are just happening to be supporting the Republican Party.

A rational discussion has as a prerequisite
honest premises.

You are ascribing to the center-left the false flag actions of the “libertarian” hard right and the declared fascists to the right of them.

That is alt-fact, deliberate lies propagated by the enemies of a working republic.
