A back for uncertainty.
You can get by with a strip of plastic, cling film etc and a rock wool cube, moss, coco etc...the air layering ball is just convenient.

1st i put wire around the selected stem, wound it tightly enough that it digs into the stem but not completely cut off the supply, it's more about limiting flow not stopping it, there's quite a wide margin it doesn't need to be exact.

Above the wire i removed the 1st buds and also removed a slither of bark just below the bud sites.

I then put 3 root it sponges in the air layering ball put it around the stem and closed it.

I'd pre treated the root it with clonex.
It's circa 50 days in flower, lets see what happens?
So why have you wrapped the branch with the bread tie? Are you planning on a revegging the plant once you harvest? Sorry if you have the answer buried further back in the thread.Part #2

I've scraped the basalt and gave it another application of clonex.

I've considered cutting it off to clone it but the reason I originally left it is the buds above it.

Naturally i don't want to cut it.
Hey buddy, the tie is to limit the flow of sap, I'd tried it in the past but I couldn't get it to work without applying some kind of choke on the stem, idk what it is that does exactly but it'll usually root in 10/12 days.So why have you wrapped the branch with the bread tie? Thanks for sharing that, I imagine its harder to do if the plant is flowering. I've yet to do clones of my own, planning on trying this go around, just in case I like the strain I'm running.Hey buddy, the tie is to limit the flow of sap, I'd tried it in the past but I couldn't get it to work without applying some kind of choke on the stem, idk what it is that does exactly but it'll usually root in 10/12 days.

Then i intend to re veg it (the above)
Cheers!
Hey buddy, if it's put on earlier it's a very reliable method, the biggest problem I've found is that usually we've removed the lighter airy buds, when it comes to re vegging they're the best for it, a denser nugget will still grow ime but it can take longer and there's a threat of mould on them. Thanks for sharing that, I imagine its harder to do if the plant is flowering. Thanks buddy i appreciate your comments.I love the air layering. I've tried it once but didn't get roots. I didn't use a wire tie to restrict the stem like that so I'll give that a try next time for sure. Those are some really healthy looking plants to be at the finish. You did a really nice job with them.
That’s awesome. I haven’t tried air layering myself, but it’s only a matter of time. I have to try it. Thanks for sharing.#3
Yeh hey, we have some roots.

It's way too early to cut off but I've few reasons to go ahead and cut it away and pot it up anyway.

Re vegging the full plant is a last resort, this'll save me time and space.

Let's see what happens?
I trimmed up the top bud and some bits and pieces I picked out of the bud to try and thin it down a little and avoid mould, i also left as much foliage as i could to encourage some transpiration.

It's drying now
Take it easy, thanks for stopping by
Thanks buddy, here's the other plant from post #49 that was a vegging plant, it's a better example. That’s awesome. I haven’t tried air layering myself, but it’s only a matter of time. I have to try it. Thanks for sharing.
