Hi everyone, i got the opportunity to review a @Cultiuana Ct-720w grow light, this one.

The unit is straight 4k sanan chips with 660nm epi star chips. _20220928_102724.JPG
The light arrived well packaged and with almost all of the contents labels removed so pretty discreet.

The light out of the box.

The light hanging kit, a set of rope hangers would've been nice but no big deal.
_20220928_102459.JPG
The power cable is a generous 9ft the hanging clips and wires look/feel heavy duty.
_20220928_102756.JPG
The power supply/driver sits conveniently along the spine of the light with the power settings on it, it's currently running at 40% and the lights surfaces feel stone cold to the touch.

I've had some unforseen issues recently so I'm way way behind schedule. I've only just hung the light so i've still lots of other bits and pieces to sort out and square up.

A few pics of where I'm at just now. _20220928_102659.JPG

I'm using coco with canna nutrients in 5ltr air pots.

I'll need to check back for specific dates but it's circa 10/12 days since flipping.

Looking forward to seeing how it does for you. I'm testing out the slightly smaller version at 660 watts and it's a power house. Best of luck with the run!
Edit: I forgot to ask, what genetics and strain are you running?
Hey thanks bud, i,ve got a number of strains going with this crop there's 2x cheese dipz, 1x bluchi, 2 x blueberry twist, 2x Swiss skunk, 1x Og kush, 1x star doggie and 1x glukies.

Well I'd say that covers all your needs then lol, you got blueberry, skunk and og kush some of the best classic genetics being brought into modern hybrids. That sounds like it should be a great mix. I've been looking at the Bluchi for my garden down the road. I'm excited to see it run under the Cultiuanna light.

It's awesome bud!
I don't recommend strains lightly but I'd have no hesitation about recommending bluchi.

It's top notch bud 1st and foremost but it's also very easy to grow, easy to trim and its the fastest finishing strain I've had.

I'm really interested because I love kush and I hate trimming so it sounds like a perfect combination. I've never smoked a cheese strain before so it's a new experience to boot.

Subbed up for the ride.
I’m not sure which design I like best. The CT-660 has the power supply built into the frame of the light.. which may radiate heat more efficiently, or the model you have where it’s simpler to cool down the power supply at high dimmer settings. I am going to be adding more fans to direct at the frame to keep her cool when I turn it up.
Happy growing @Star Dog :bigjoint:

I like your design better bro, the mix of 3k and 5k chips does appeal to me more.

We should have swapped some clones to see how they did. It would be different growers and nutes but the lights would still have some say on things. It would have been interesting.
Yeah it would be interesting to swap clones and compare the end results, I thought it was generally accepted that more yellow 2800-3k is best for flowering, in terms of yeild anyway but yeah it would interesting to do.

Cheese imo is a fantastic smoke certainly for flavor its a classic.

Cheese dipz from London city genetics that's the same breeder as the bluchi.
_20220929_224455.JPGI've a 2nd one
I just re potted tonight after revealing its sex.

I'm particularly looking forward to these and the blueberry.

I can see why, I'm loving the stout stems. Looks like it should support some big buds. I miss good Blueberry weed. The early 2000s were full of it. Too many strains to grow and never enough space, the curse of the small tent growers.

It's surprising the difference a few days make, they're coming along nicely even with less than ideal temperatures 18-19c nights
22-23c daytime
@40% power

Taken Wednesday after installation.

And today.
_20220930_144358.JPG
Humidity is going to be difficult to manage so I'm intending to remove everything except the prime bud sites but for now I'm going to let them grow on and get some energy from the foliage.

I've taken some power ratings from the wall outlet..
100% 752w
80% 573w
60% 432w
40% 297w

I'd like to make some gadget for hand feeding like with a pump and flow controller, I've not plumbed in the auto feeder so I'm hand feeding, the reason for this is once plumbed in its pain to move the plants, with hand feeding i can arrange them better after the stretch phase then plumb them in.

Front left) cheese dipz was flipped 16/18 days before the others, the 2nd cheese dipz immediately right was flipped 3-4 days after it.

They're still @40% power but starting to look like they want more.

Ec 1.4
ph 6.0
Temps 19/23c circa 70% humidity.

Edit... I increased the power tonight to 60% that = 30/35,000 lux at 13/15" from the canopy.

A few updated pics...
Sunday 3rd September.

Wednesday 5th September...
_20221005_172924.JPG
I've removed a handful of leafs from around the top of the canopy.
_20221005_172848.JPG
On Sunday i increased the power to 60% on Tuesday i had to increase the ec 0.2 and another 0.2 today so the nutrient is now 1.8ec

Temps are a looking better, with the increase in power the ambient is now around 24-25c 72/75% rh.

Eta... When I increased the power output i raised the light it's now 18-22" from the tops.

Things are moving along nicely.
_20221012_152443.JPG
I've been doing a little defoliating here and there on different plants depending on how they're growing, the shorter/slower ones I've left as is until they came on, the taller/faster ones i removed some key leafs.
Example...
_20221011_203836.JPG
_20221011_203808.JPG
With the exception of one plant they're all 18-21" tall, idk if I've steered the height or its just coincidental time will tell.

Yesterday i increased the power to 80% and also raised the light it's now 19-21" from the tops and reading 35-40,000 lux +/-

Some quick calculations suggests that at 100% power and at the suggested height it's going to be too much light without Co2?
_20221012_153219.JPG
From the reading I've done around 900/1000 umols/ppfd is most efficient without Co2?

At last now i can maintain a better daytime temperature since boosting the power to 80% temps are around 25.5c/26.5c and 70/75% rh.

I measured the leaf surface temperatures today and they're between 20-23c

For feeding I'm still using1.8ec fed 2x a day until run off which measures 0.9ec, they look OK so I'll leave it at 1.8 for now.

A couple of pics from this afternoon.

Swiss skunk, it's on the outside so it's convenient to get a full picture of it.
_20221014_153930.JPG
Og kush..
_20221014_153708.JPG
Tipped early in flower to encourage the side branches up + i get two even tops.
_20221014_154252.JPG
Im still hand feeding 1.8ec/ph 6.0 2x daily.

Last night i made a start on plumbing the pots into the auto feed system, when I was taking it apart to sterilize it i broke one of the nipples off the manifold :-(

Luckily I've a spare but it needs a few minor alterations.

Done!
I can't find my taps so I'm putting the untapped lines to the plants using the most nutrients and fine tune the other, it's working for now most importantly.
_20221014_161531.JPG_20221014_161503.JPG
It's a bit late to start plumbing today so I'll start early tomorrow, I'm also going to change out the tray to give the plants a little more space between them I've got some 120x40cm trays i can use.
