Choosing a rosin press

Hmm I never checked humidity before pressing. You're talking about the material being 64% or the room? Sorry if that's a dense question but I never even thought to check/be concerned. I only press after a harvest. Once it's ready to jar, it's ready to press. Cured bud doesn't do as well for me. Less yield, darker color usually.

As far as pressing goes, I'm a firm believer less is more. Less material in the bag. Less time pressing. Less pressure. Lower temps.

185 is a good starting point. Press to 0.5T and hold for a minute or two. Then every 30 seconds, increase pressure by 0.5T. Don't exceed 3T ever. Increase pressure until you get a good flow. Usually 2-2.5T is the sweet spot for me.

You don't want more than 3-4 minutes under pressure above 1T.

That's not meant to be the definitive guide to pressing but it's what has worked very well for me.
its reading 62rh with meter in bag with bag shut after a few hrs. Im not sure how long people read for but the how-to says 24hrs. I would like to press today while I am off work.

So I get 1% rise per hr or faster when too wet but like today its taking longer to rise in rh. I think its a tad bit too soon or maybe not.

Was gonna wait till like 4pm to decide but if I dont then its as good as doing it any other day. I was just being anxious thinking I will be up too late if I press after the afternoon.

So since 8:45am it rose 2 units to 62rh for 5 hrs in bag. Im thinking it should be fine to press. Gonna wait till 2pm and press if its still 62rh.

Before I forget to ask, is a blow out always bad? Like what if it visually looks clean of plant matter. Is it still vape-able? I notice half the time it still looks fine and people even press without bags.

People use home method that don't have money for press and comes out good for dabs with just parchment and a hair straightener.

Same thing a couple more times. Need smoke breaks in between because this strain makes me nervous pressing and collecting, its sugaring so much its making it smear on paper a little bit. Going 45 seconds bs 1 min 15sec seems to help that.

The stash is growing fast and still have 4 more oz to go.

Ok so I know what I am yielding exactly now and its not horrible. I realized I could weigh the dab tool which was 18 grams, removed rosin, its 17.56 grams so .44 grams rosin being 9% return from 5 geams weed. Not horrible. And I am getting used to the taste, quickly starting to like it alot.

Plucked some of the more ripe buds of watermelon ultra which already have clone of. About time to sample so I did. Going to see what this yields when its ready in about a week. Helps to know asap what I am working with. If you zoom in you can see the frost content.

I dont know what to plan for my next perpetual garden till I do.

The rest of trim was in dry herb shelf in tent with fan, ideally for the buds. Just wanted to see if they smoked/smelled better and the kief etc get to dry properly and possibly cure. Idk what people do with the trim but I wet trim.

They dried at 60rh instead of flower room 35rh. 12 days ish vs 2 or 3.

They have a musky smell, they should of been on dry herb shelf itself but was on aluminum foil and perhaps shouldnt of put one on top the other as the underneath leafs still have flex.

What do you do with trim or what wouldnyou do with it if you wet trimmed? They seem to do good drying fast in flower room.

In process of seeing how harsh my products are but the kief from weed with no cure that I posted here and tried to press, it had a harsh sensation a tad bit. Hard to explain.

All my weed has a certain harshness but might be learning my hygrometers are off which messes everything up. So far looks like its off which would explain.

Seems harder to make weed than process into rosin which is going well. Been enjoying my rosin, no complaints.

Is 4 days enough time for wet trimmed de-nugged buds to dry enough to press? Stems have flex but buds hard as rock. I think I pressed at 4 days before but could wait tomorrow if I should.

Im using a caliber right out the box and so far 53rh. The hygrometer method is not as perfect as I thought unless I salt test meter each time. Not so sure about applying the large difference.

One said this method can mislead and I think thats why I havent cured or dried properly but still had ok reaults. Anyone can dry to a crisp though.
