I pressed early too so thats some water weight more likely being an eighth which is even better id think if thats the case.

Heres the clone, took over 30 days to show signs of growth above the pot. So passed point of worrying if I have the genetics on hold. The rosin is nucleating, the clear sap must of binded up and help cause nucleation.
I just dabbed a nice sample size. Its a different taste at first inhale like all my home grown home pressed. But not a bad first impression which normally I get used to amd eventually love. All rosin gives me after taste a strong one.
As for the watermelon I think I can kind of taste it but its more of a og kush diesle gas kind of lemon sour. Needless to say its great and going to work on making a bunch of clones. It doesnt look like a high bud yielder but the rosin yield makes up for that greatly.

Ive been looking at my bag of pucks for a while and finally whilped up the energy to make some butter with it like I read you could. Great idea.
Feels good to turn it into yet another product. Havent tried it yet. Its enhanced with liquid soy lecithin. Also good way to get rid of blow out rosin.
Edit I made some brownies with some of it and its pretty good, I am medicated. I messed up the dosage and only put half the weed I meant to put into it. 2oz in 2 cups oil but meant to do 4oz in 2 cups oil.

This is a throw back to when I pressed 3.5gs gg4 auto by auto seeds.. It was supposedly 15% from what I gathered then from 32 gs. Yielded 4.7gs but could be a little more or less because I didnt weight the first two eighth presses. 15% would be 4.8gs rosin so sounds about right.
What has me scratching my head is why does this look like 2x or 3x the amount of rosin compared to my watermelon ultra that yields 15% or even my kongs krush that yielded 9% (I know because I tested it) ..
Will any amount of weed test the same amount? Like will 5gs of a strain yield the same amount each time? Can you only know by weighing the end results?
I usually see a pattern like .5 from 3.5gs flower every time and after pressing a QP of kongs krush.. And all other weed pressed.. It all yields the same no matter what I do. Any thoughts?
This gg4 auto looks soo much more yield but it balled up to be 15%. Does some rosin different in consistancy like weed can be, like fluff vs dense? This is crazy that it looks so much more. Half a mind to just grow a bunch of these out!

Wondering if my watermelon ultra would yield less if I let it dry out even the slightest bit more because I pressed it when it was a bit wet still. I think it was barely ok because the rosin hissed in the banger a little bit, but only a little.
I ask because I did this with chemdog auto and it yielded much more than when I let the weed dry out, it eventually yielded even less than 9%. But again, it collected to be less than it appears. Whats going on here? Lol.
I pressed store bought weed that was dry, quick bag testing at 54rh or so but harvested recently.. Dry but it yielded 15%. Hope my questions make sense..
Just basically can it appear to be more than it is, and could my watermelon ultra (or a given strain) turn out to yield less than I thought if I dried it out enough to where it didnt hiss in banger at all. Can weed thats too wet falsly appear to yield more than it really does..?

Water weight would be excess weight. If it’s hissing in the banger then there is likely moisture in it still.

The chemdog dried for just a few days when it yielded more than the rest of the batch that dried out more, like 5-7 days. It was wet trimmed and de-nugged so it dries a little faster.
The chemdog dried in flower room at 35rh after just 3 days seemed ready to press and smoke.
The dried out batch yielded like 4-7% instead of what appeared to be more the initial press. So I dont that thats a factor thats too much at play in this scenario.
And when I say hiss in the banger, I mean when I cold start it and it processes into vape form where it stops bubbling. A crackling sound real quick but aside from that was perfect rosin, appearing to yield 15%.
Just hoping I didnt jump the gun on what this watermelon strain yields. I still think 15% or pretty close to it. For sure much more, maybe double of what the kongs krush yielded.

Speaking of which, here is a video of the whole plant, how much longer does it look to you? Its the next plant in line to be pressed.. Thinking 3-4 maybe 5 oz if I am lucky. Doubt it.

Can't see closeup on trichromes, calaxes, pistols receding at all? Take a piece of bud to take a closeup with phone to know.

Tried my best. These shots are a pita so thought easier to just make video. I know its not done but wondering how much longer you think. I dont usually go by trichs because I had a plant that made rosin, not amber or cloud after 13 weeks flower.
Maybe related to that maybe not, that it makes rosin and doesnt amber or cloud up easy. I had a plant cloudy at 9 weeks. Idk lol. Nice thing about running clones is I only need to do this once per strain.

Sweet video. Watched the whole thing and felt like I was looking over your shoulder. Nice looking plant! Touch of tip burn, just the right amount. I would move your clip on fan under the canopy pointing up. Your exhaust fan will take care of the upstairs, but air needs to be flowing under there. Watch those plastic clips too, they dig into the stem.

I have one for under canopy just not on that side, I was suggested I had too many already. I have 2 for above canopy. I do plan to put one there too since I bought all the fans and mounts.
I like extra air flow too for few reasons mainly mold. So really, 3 weeks? Im suprised, was prepared to be told longer so that is awesome. I was personally thinking the same thing.

Now that's some airflow! I never grew that strain, but three weeks will get you close. I know we'll have ample opportunity to chime in before chop, so check back in 3 weeks. If you are anything like me, then you are staring at them daily. Hard to discern change like that.

What kind of music we got in the garden? Video was awfully quiet. I didn't even hear you curse while trying to line everything up with your phone.

The plant left to it that took up 60-65% of the canopy was 5.3oz but also had 2.3 oz from another plant so like 7-8oz about half a P of trim jail..
After trim jail I have more patience, I barely looked at the plant for the last few weeks since trim jail. I was also pushed by rh rising beyond 50% and dehuey on all day and night so bill was increasing..
Having tent half full of buds and the rest be young flowering plants should help like it is now. I stay between 40-45rh. Thats with a plant almost done so thats cool.
Thats with dry winter season though, idk how my tent will roll during humid summers.Yea pretty quiet haha should throw on some reggae or something next time.

The thing about running up electricity isnt the problem, I dont mind paying more for mold free weed if it worked like that.
It can mold and once an out break happens, the tier of the rest of the bag goes down right away knowing that. It also spreads fast.
So thats money lost in one of the worse ways through growing considering unpaid labor. I still owe $350 in electric for 8oz of all molded bud. I probably never will pay it.
I think I can convince roomates that it was a rookie mistake that wont happen again or as bad. For sure will be paying electric moving on and already have.
Im thinking during summers make clones flip asap and make midget plants with space all around and through them. Half tent plants that were just flipped because the half tent method is working well.
8 plants in half gal or 1L flora flex pots. Im thinking 1L 8 plants for summers.

Different strains will def produce different yields. As will the size of micron press bags you use, and what temperature you are pressing at. The method you use to press (bag/temp), as well as pressure will all affect yield. And it also affects the consistency. In a dramatic way. The plants fats, waxes and terpenes, cannabinoids (only one of which is THC) all end up in the rosin in varying amounts, dependent on such parameters. And so it is worth the time and effort, especially when pressing a QP one eighth at a time, to vary your temps/times/pressures and micron size bag. Yield is only one result. The rosin’s consistency and terp content are things you want to tinker with as well. And it’s how you go about it that changes the results.
On another note, i refuse to press any uncured flower/trim or keif/hash. The moisture content needs to be as low as possible. For me, it’s a minimum of 10 days cure AFTER it’s fully dried. Dried being that buds fold backwards off a branch a “pop” right off. No fight, no help, no tiny string keeping it attached. If there’s a timy string? leave it hanging to dry. regardless of what the outsides of the bud feels like. that stem has moisture even AFTER buds will pop off. and that moisture will hydrate the bud while curing. Thats all curing really is. An even distribution of moisture. Happy Growing & happy pressing

That was a tough question to ask but yea most of my question was there and answered thanks. To add to that, the chemdog had rough conditions 35rh flower room for 3-4 days where the watermelon had like 5-7 in 60rh but could of used 2-3 more days.
Anyways I have about 1.5 to just under 2 oz im guessing of watermelon, about to find out.
I do tinker if I dont like the flavor but soon as I do I just ball up one ball of all weed pressed so I dont have to have a bunch of different samples like I sometimes have to before I find that “good enough for me” flavor.
