Byron Smith execution of burglars

Nice strawman, but I'd expect nothing less from an angry vegan mad at his flavourless world.

I didn't say they were 'good kids', they obviously made a mistake and broke the law.
Would it be ok to sentence them to death for a BE? Because that's essentially what this guy did. He became enforcement, judge, jury and executioner.
If they started giving the death penalty for it, there would be a lot less B&E. In Colorado, break in's are lower because of the chance of being killed by the owner.

I say good for him. Now less people in this world are potentially harmed. My way would've been less dramatic, one shotgun blast, center mass.

After hearing gunfire, why did she walk down the stairs? A stupid thief, at that...
A thief has more to lose than gain if they enter my home. What I'm currently typing on contains my life's work. If anyone tries to take it, I'll kill them without remorse.

I would give the guy a pass on the first kid he shot. But it became murder after the 1st shot on the girl
I would think that after hearing gunshots and STILL coming down stairs, he must have assumed that the second intruder is packing a gun. Why would someone, who is in someone else's house unarmed, not flee if they heard gunshots? Was she deaf?

But to lure them in purely to kill them?

I dunno man, Id be a defender of castle doctrine...but where do we draw the line?

He was hardly in fear of his life...but it was his house...I dunno, the grey area is very grey.
How did he "lure" them in? A small crumb trail of diamonds rubies and gold leading through the unbroken window? Sorry, but if you have to BREAK in to gain entry, then you haven't been lured anywhere.

If I have enough time to move my truck out of view, and setup a vantage point, I have enough time to call the cops and completely avoid two senseless murders.
Are you still dreaming that the cops will come over to your house and protect you?

LMAO

By not following the advice you gave in the other thread about moving.

So when some unknown people break through your window in the dark of night you offer them cookies? Oh wait, thats right, you call the police while your throat is being cut right? Hey at least the police will show up and call the morgue for you, but you wont care because dead people don't have feelings.

Yeah, it would seem they broke in.

In that case, the homeowner was simply defending his property.

I had no facts, only some crazy audio recording, thanks for clearing it up.

Was the audio recording the whole thing, or just the "juicy" bits edited by MSM and for mainstream sheep consumption?

Lets face it, if the guy would not have made the recording and had not talked to police, he would be sitting at home providing tax income, but instead we will now pay for him to live in a shitty cell that will cost us millions.

Way to go.

At least a few less vermin roam the streets.

It was the one that showed the homeowner to be a few sandwiches short of a picnic...

Either way, they broke in and got shot.

That guy and potheads are very dangerous people. There's a reason America has the most incarceration per capita of any nation. We're bad, very very bad.

STOP! WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON MY PROPERTY?!?!
Seeing a slug at the end of the barrel, your immediate response is...?

Knowledge is a weapon in its own right, and he failed to use it to his advantage. Now he'll spend what little life he has left in regret probably reliving that scenario in his mind, over and over, wondering the exact same thing.
Citizens aren't cops, and they aren't soldiers, and they have NO duty to inform a threat about jack OR shyte when they believe they are in danger of death or serious bodily injury. Unless their particular STATE law says otherwise.

People can do some strange shyte when they are afraid.

You may think that it's "common sense" that an individual would "call out a warning" to a home intruder, and some would, however, people are different.

Some people might:

Hide.
Confront the intruder without a weapon of their own.
Confront the intruder and try to reason with them.
Run out of the house.
Lie in wait for the intruder WITH a weapon.
Hide and call the cops.
Any number of things too numerous to cite.

Bottom line, is that you really can't tell what the hell somebody is going to do when they feel they are in danger. Fear can have a very powerful impact on those unaccustomed to it.

That's why a lot of lethal force laws are written the way they are, and the way they SHOULD be, by giving the citizen the benefit of the doubt as opposed to the criminal.

The law should allow for you to give them a good raping too.

If it let's you shoot them, and that is worth 25years-life, then something worth far less should be allowed at the same time.

Padawan, any comment?

Anyway, while one tries to digest the questionable excuses offered by those in support of gun'em-down granpa, here's another case just recently come to pass where the Castle/Stand-your-Ground defense will be played.

http://missoulian.com/news/local/charging-document-missoula-man-waited-up-to-shoot-kid/article_f7551102-cf0e-11e3-9619-001a4bcf887a.html
A Missoula man was charged with deliberate homicide Monday for shooting and killing a high school foreign exchange student in his garage a day earlier, allegedly after setting a trap for burglars and announcing that he was waiting up at night to “shoot some (expletive) kid.”

Markus Hendrik Kaarma, 29, appeared in Missoula County Justice Court on Monday afternoon before acting Justice of the Peace Suzanne Geer.

Kaarma allegedly fired four shots – two of which hit Diren Dede, a German exchange student who was standing in Kaarma’s garage on Deer Canyon Court in the Grant Creek neighborhood.

Dede was 17 years old, an all-state soccer player and a junior at Big Sky High School. He was unarmed and, according to a witness, shouted “wait” or “hey” as Kaarma chambered a shell in the shotgun.

Two of the shots hit the boy in the head and left arm. He was taken to St. Patrick Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There's more to the story, but that's the opener.

Sorry, I didn't know you were retarded and didn't understand the words I wrote. Let me try again, simpler this time.

If you KNOW two kids are going to enter your home, (only IF you make it look like you're not home, but that's another argument) and have time to setup a 'bunker/vantage point', you're life is not in danger and if you use deadly force, you should be treated like a criminal.

If someone breaks into your house WITHOUT you knowing, you have no way to know what's coming at you, and should act accordingly. Whammy blammy.

Do you understand now?

He stopped defending his home after the second shot into the girl. And the third and the fourth and the fifth.
Not to mention the one he put up under her chin that was the 6th
