Protip: Hit Quincy Market (Boston) near the end of the day. The produce guys typically don't bother reloading their remaining stuff (it oftentimes ends up in the street, sadly) so you can get crazy deals like 3-for-$1 melons and free greens.
Also on one of the lower levels there used to be a massive Arab operation, Halal goat butchering and then some, and those guys would give niiiiiice deals on super fresh stuff. I bought an entire goat head once, eyes and all, for a hell of a stock. My ex-wife made a big deal out of it, how "disgusting" it was.
