Even with hydrogen bombs, we don't have enough knowledge to find a way to blow the earth up in chunks.

And yeah the sun could destroy earth literally. As in no more earth. But the sun is way bigger than earth.

to blow the earth up id think we'd have to figure out a way to take all the nukes we have (which i dont think is too many now) an put them into the core of the earth to blow it up. now if they figured out how to harness more than 1% of the a-bombs power then id believe it.

Yeah, we may blow ourselves up but the earth will only go into chunks from an asteroid(s). Even then, it would have to be nearly as big or bigger than Earth itself.

look into "haarp" a few of them and i would say its almost possible!

Almost possible or is? We may be able to destroy the whole planet but to blow it up into chunks that would mean no longer habitual, I don't think so.

As far as we know, all the sun is fueled by, is a bunch of hydrogen bombs going off at once.

It's the difference between a bonfire and a case of dynamite ... both have similar amounts of energy. But the dynamite does more damage because of the shock effect.
The sun is like a giant nuclear bonfire. It could melt the earth, but it can't really blow it to a giant smear. A large-enough thermonuke could, but it would have to be near the planet's center and be the size of South Carolina. cn

Now put that into measurements of how many tons of bombs it would take to achieve the power of the sun.

The sun is giant. You'd need a giant bomb to do the damage the sun would do. We don't have big enough bombs.. Not yet.
