attach the intake of the Canfan to the window a/c unit and have that blowing into the reflector?
dude u dont need a/c...just hook that canfan right to the end of yer reflector blowing threw it then out the window
i looked @ yer pics and you have a whole lot of ducting their going up and over then down to many bends

well the closet is across the room from window so alot of ducting is neccesary for that. in the pics i have the fan sucking in from window and blowing threw to the top of the closet and out the booster fan into the main room. are you suggesting having the sucking end open in the closet and have the blowing end right on the reflector to the window? if so i can give that a try tomorrow.

im welcome to any other opinions on how to re arrange the set up in order to get correct air flow and temp. thinking about either having to add some sort of a/c or having to get another fan for exhaust or intake or both.

reversed the system and now have the fan blowing across the hood pretty much directly out of the closet threw the room out the window. standing outside the window theres plenty of push going. the fan is sucking air directly from the closet. ill reprt on the temp in a little. not expecting it to be any different.

maybe go from the window to the fan threw the hood and back out the window...or just open the window some how to keep that room/closet cooler....sounds like you need some kind of intake from outside....hell go straight up to the attic,

no attic and cant go threw roof. your first way is actually working alright. temps are at 91F. its not going to be any hotter running it at night but during summer it wont cut it. still need to get some intake from the window aswell, right now its only coming from the room from that shitty booster fan. also a good sign its doing better is that the room is staying cooler and not warming up like yesterday.

well then replace to booster with a bigger fan also....or put a fan sucking in air from window.....
an a/c will just waste power...a 5000 btu aint shit:mrgreen:

well im glad someone has said something against the a/c. im definetely trying to pull some more money together for a better intake fan but im pretty empty right now after spending all this. im thinking of a vortex fan like this http://www.coasthydroponics.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=1244&Category_Code=210&Product_Count=23 or a smaller one like this http://www.coasthydroponics.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=1770&Category_Code=210&Product_Count=24

the guy at the hydro shop said he runs the 6" canfan with a 6" vortex in a room similar size to mine and it keeps its at a constant 75F. but his house may hold in heat and cool air differently then mine, is probably exhausting differently as well.

Dude do not buy either 1 of those fans...vortex fans r very over priced

this is what im cooling 2 1000's with in a 47 square ft(6'4 x 7'4)
And its cheaper
its the 6in PV-150x
and the 8in PV-200x

main reason i want to go with those vortex is that they are at the hydro shop and i dont have to deal with waiting for packages and if they dont work all i have to do is go return it no ?s asked. something shipped i have to wait, pay for shipping, and possibly have to pay for return if it doesnt work. if i were to go with one of those which would you suggest, the 150x? only 12 dollar shipping for ground which is alright. and i still need the air to be cool so how do you do that with out a/c or a swamp cooler?

just to mess around ive got 2 LA confidential kush seeds going that were found in some clinic bud. as well ive got a WW male crossed with Aussie Blue female seed that i made awhile back. also a WW male crossed with a Killer Queen female seed that was made around same time as the other one. i ran the WWxKiller Queen one time before and it was a very stocky and stirdy girl but died due to my brother when i went to hawaii a year ago. i hope that this one is a girl cause its the last seed i got. the WWxAB and the WWxKQ were both from preflower breeding so i didnt ruin the buds. both are ready to be potted and will hopefully survive. the kush seeds should be ready in a few days as i just put them in the bottle a day or two ago. hopefully there not herms.

planted the seeds that cracked. the WWxAB already had its first leaves out when i put it in soil. the WWxKQ and one of the LA Con kush were only cracked so i planted them as well. well see if i can get these to survive. haha probably not, i hate seeds!! there not under the HPS yet, not till saturday. i also decided im going to switch the ballast knob to 600w from superlumens and so on to see what temp i can get it to.

lights been on at 600w on the ballast for an hour and its 88F seeming constant. pretty decent, may have to try 400w tomorrow. atleast with 88 i can still get a a/c unit or swamp cooler and run that a little to get temp down another 5 deg. or so. i dont want to over due my electricity so i cant go full out on a a/c unit running all day to keep the temp to a perfect 75F. might have to get a evaporitive air cooler from sears and put it to a thermostat at like 83F or so. still trying to get some more money together but will be trying my best to get some plants running here with the temp i got. the thermometer is like 8" below light too so i can move it(light) up and maybe temp will be alright for plants. if a plant can grow outside in 90F so cal weather then i think it can handle alittle less inside. just my opinion haha.

was just wondering what your humidity is like in your house maybe all you need is a dehumidifier or maybe the basement is cooler then out side just throwing a few options in the air and theres always second hand equipment for sale on kijiji or craiglist a\c, fans...ect sometimes grow equipment. good luck maybe jimmy rigging an ice box with some ice probibly wouldn't work but it s another idea could use alot of 2 liter bottles in the cooler to chill.

the humidity is never at a constant and i havent really even addressed that yet. i know i have a pic somewhere in here that has the temp and prob says the humidity as well. i never thought that it was high so i dont think high humidity is a problem. no basement. manufactured home. ive been looking on craigslist each day but i dont have the money right now to spend so its kind of worthless until i do have it all together. ive seen a few coolers and a/c units going for just over 100$ and some for 150$ online brand new and used so i have a few options when i do have the green saved up. nice idea on the ice box but that sounds like more work then just picking up a brand new a/c unit or swamp cooler, possibly less money though. thanks for the great opinions and for the help. always works better when more heads are in it then one.

alright so i put the ballast to 400W and the temp is at a constant 80F. way better then before and plants can actually grow well under that temp. it may rise alittle more as the house warms up as its only 11 40 am. ill be running the flower at night so it may be less than 80F with the 400w later tonight. im planning on getting clones in next few days, if not today. the WWxAB is dead cause i put it in the sun and it got fried after sitting in a water bottle for over a week haha so that one is done for. the LA con kush is doing well and is going to pop surface in the next day or so. the WWxKQ may be alive and may be dead so ill see what happens with that one. the guy who had the pre 98 bubba clones said no go for those any more and offered blue dream but ive never been impressed with the clinics blue dream weed so im going to opt for something else. going to look up on weed maps which local dispensary has the best strain clones and ill make my pick according to that. leaning towards indica.

pics later of the current set up. then hopefully will have some clones in there by end of night to get some real grow pics going!!

How's the temps w/ the air conditioner?
still havent hooked it up. happy easter though haha!! the sprout is doing pretty good though, noticeable difference in growth over the few hours the lights been on. temps at 87F on 400w right now 8inch under light. the sprout is about a foot and half under light. plugged in the a/c last night for a test and spread out some ducting to closet and there was a nice amount of cool air coming threw so i have a feeling it will do a good job especially with the booster fan help. hopefully ill get it in and hooked up by the end of the night.

also checked the WWxKQ seed and it was dead so that was is out. the LA con kush is doing well and has taken to the light nicely.

got the a/c in and the ducting connected to it and the booster fan on the other end which is sitting pretty much right behind the tower fan in the closet. only a portion of the a/c unit is covered with ducting(6"), ill have to funnel all of it at another time. i also turned the ballast back up to super lumens to pull the most out of the 600w bulb. with the a/c unit running on max for an hour it was down to 81F. still may try different fan arrangements, this is just a test set up for now.
