Just so you know, Im very jealous of your gorilla tent. I skimped on my 5x5 and it can only be described as an absolute piece of shit. The zippers are already starting to break and unstitch from the fabric and to top it off the things not all that stable. I refuse to hang my filter from the "hanging supports" in fear it will bring down my light or the whole tent. Im sure you have previously stated, but why only 2 plants when ya got all that space?

Monster plants :bigjoint: and its a scrog so its gonna have a massive canopy. Although I do have to say if it was me I'd do 4 plants to cut down on veg.

Yea I gathered the scrog part from the title lol. I was just thinking the same as you, plenty of space for 4. It will be nice to be able to get to the 2 plants fairly easily though. Those plants are going to be monsters, I gotta go back and read the specifics,

Yeah and with a scrog it would be harder to get to the back two plants.

Peony rings are like 16" scrog nets that can attach to the pot so you can have individual plants in scrogs.

There's allways waterhoses, pumps and wands...they reach waaaaaay back there..lol(I joke because I have to move 2 rows of plants to get this to work..)
Id the bluedream is legit, two plants will be way more than enough to fill that room.

I'm pretty convinced HSO used the real cut to make the S1s but their business practices mean I will never buy their seeds.
CCC did you post a pic of the seeds?

which tent did you purchase? i splurged on the gorilla grow tent because i think the key to good herb is a good environment. plus i wanted to have peace of mind and gorilla's claims of being able to support alotta' weight are proving to be true.

i was originally going to do 4 plants, but was advised to go with 2. after some research on the specific strain i'm running it seems 2 will be plenty.

yeah i don't really want a super long veg time but i think it will be worth it..how long do you think i'm going to have to veg these bitches??

those are nice but i wouldn't call it a scrog because you aren't getting an even horizontal canopy.

what business practices are you referring to?

You can mount them horizontally and then you have the even canopy.

what business practices are you referring to?
I emailed them asking about which cuts they used to make their beans and what method of feminization was used and after like 5 days I got an email that they wouldn't release that info citing security reasons but they assured me if I grew their genetics I would be assured their genetics originated in CA. I also really take issue with people charging that much for S1s of cuts they didn't even select.

Eh honestly on veg time idk I say 3 months tops to have monster plants. Ive heard that the hso bluedream is a really rapid grower so maybe alot less than that.
Ive had bad grow experiences with soil so my plants have always seemed to take slot longer than they should. 1 reason im making the switch to hempy buckets next run.

The only way you need to veg for 3 months is if you're in a party cup or something. I've pulled a qp off a plant vegged for less than that almost all of which was in a party cup under 2 23W CFLs. The last week it went into a 1qt container. Then it was upcanned to a 3gal pot day 0 of flower under a 400W. It was the BD clone actually.

that's damn good to hear. i honestly think with 2 scrogged blue dreams i could pull close to a pound. that's just a little over a half gpw..i don't think that'd be asking too much. a half pound per plant just sounds like a lot to me for some reason though idk why.

as for transplanting. i plan to move them to 3 gal pots right before i start training them into the screen.

If you want to fill that tent you want them in larger containers. I would go with 7-10 gal if you want to fill the scrog with 2. The plant I pulled a qp off took up like 1.5 sqft and was 16" tall above the lip of the pot. Fed miracle grow 24-8-16 through the stretch then Jack's 20/20/20 the rest of the way. 4 plants in 4-5 gals would work well and you should hit a pound with ease with BD in your setup. I know with the clone and a setup like yours I would be aiming for the kilo

hmm...well this gives me an excuse to buy some smart pots. would i be able to transfer straight from the half gallon to a 7 gallon pot? someone earlier in the thread said i run the risk of root rot if my plant is too small for the pot i put her in..

shit man a kilo?! that's alotta fucking weed. tell me what would you do if you seriously attempted to pull a kilo outta my tent? as in:
what kinda nutes?
what size pots? and when to transplant
how many plants?
..anything else

i'm honestly planning on growing out blue dream until i really dial in my skills (if she produces well on this run). i've heard this is the best way to get good at growing. if you think a kilo is really feasible then that will be my new goal. i won't let myself run a new strain till i hit a kilo if you convince me this is possible.

I'm speaking for the clone but there's definitely S1 phenos capable of hitting the yield. There's one that looks more indica dominant that I think might out yield the clone but wasn't as good.
I'd want to be running hydro but if I was going with soilless I would go with fast draining 50/50 mix of peat and growstones (they're like better hydroton). I'd put rooted clones into 1qt pots lined with something like microkote or spinout (or just mix copper (II) hydroxide n latex pain and make your own, all pots will be lined with this) and let them stay in there for about 3 weeks to get a truly dense root ball, you could probably do it at 2 weeks. Then go to 1-1.5 gal for another 2-3 weeks, then to a 3-4 gal, then two final container about a week before flower. They can be held pretty much indefinitely in the 3 gals if you need to wait for room to be opening up in bloom for the new plants.
For nutes I'd go with Either Jack's Citrus FeED or Dyna Gro's Foliage Pro as my base along with DG's Protekt. After the stretch give a bump in Ca and Mg and S (usually Mg supplements have a lot of S). Feed enough to keep the leaves green and productive but no more and feed at every watering. Plants are not like people, feeding them too much will not make them fat. Flush your medium out with 2-3x the volume of the pot of pH'd water and then feed as normal every 7-14 days. Salt build up will fuck your plants up.
The big trick is getting your tent filled with an evenly illuminated canopy and finding the environment the plants like. I find running negative pressure fucks things up. Make sure your intake can keep up with your exhaust.
Do you have a light mover in there? They help provide more even coverage. They don't really expand the area a light can cover but they help them cover it better.

One day I want to try to get a pound off a single plant under a 400W with the clone when I have space. I think she could do it.

Yea ccc,you can easily pull 2lbs with some patience..id def have to side with duck on the larger pots..more roots equal more fruits...and vegging that long isn't gonna help itll hurt,if you leave em in a smaller pot..3gal pots were not meant for 5months of growth...3 months of veg and 2 flowering and it'll be a block of roots coated in salt...I got mothers that have been in the same pot for over a year, but I take special care of them and only veg(obviously)...if I were you id get an aluminum horse trough and line it with landscapefabric and use it for both plants..it'll be sturdy enough to move with all that weight(unlike a rubbermaid tote) and you can fasten screen supports all around it with the same sturdy metal...set that bad boy on a few bricks for drainage into a pan and you're set.
